Fantastic! Elecriq Review for 9000btu split system
5 out of 5 stars
Fantastic! Elecriq Review for 9000btu split system
I actually bought mine direct front appliances direct website, but felt I needed to review on here as I couldn't say the time find the 9000btu on here. Having a portable 9000 with a hose already when we had the 38 degrees odd,I knew it was so noisy and struggling. I found the split system from elecriq on the web from the above supplier who I've used before. Read loads of reviews regards how good a 9000btu split is and the sort of area coverage. Reading higher BTUs can in theory be trickier to install as in the 9000 is advertised as DIY installation, I decided to go for it. 2 things came to light firstly having ordered it and quick delivery I installed myself, the only thing here I will say is after watching a you tube good first, don't try and run the gas pipes along the back from one side to the other, you will have tremendous trouble trying to click shut the internal wall unit, so following the vid I pulled the pipes straight out the side they came from. Drilled a 65mm hole for my size pipes at slight downward angle and connected remaining pipe to condenser outside. Bought some 65mm or 68mm it may have been black gutter pipes, bends and brackets. When condensor wiring done(easy) and mounted to a slab I ..using a hand held grinder slit down the gutter pipes and slid them over pipes. Yes you could slide up as you go, but I wasn't sure where and how it would fit so did it this way. Do the air purge without pump as per instruction manual(easy) and away you go. The point here being the 9000btu WiFi is amazing! Compete contrast to the portable and not only can I not go below 19 or 20 degrees at the moment as it's freezing! But if bedroom door left open (bungalow) it makes a massive difference to the hallway and a difference in other rooms. Brilliant product, as Scott says you will here a gas escape when undoing pipe end covers to connect briefly as is a leak test but just let it go and sorted. Soooo quiet! I did slope both pipes in case of water trap on the gas side from weather and the left side I sloped for the drain into the soakaway.👍UPDATE:10TH JUNE 2021THIS MACHINE IS STILL FANTASTIC!Used through winter with heat setting and apart from being economical to run it performed flawlessly.Summer now here we have it set constantly on 20 and between low and medium(also has high and turbo) and it's blooming freezing! We are in a bungalow and found leaving for to that room open, we can notice a coolness through it the house, where as it would normally be very muggy in the other rooms.Just thought I'd update.

Fantastic product and fairly easy to install however you will either need to get someone to fit it or you will need to buy some tools. Also you will need a mount for the condenser unit, not a deal breaker but added about £200 in tools to my bill to install myself, it was a fun project and has made my office much more comfortable. I found a YouTube video that helped massively and installed it with the help of my son.

After running 2 portable aircon units in my 12' log cabin, air temp was still up in the mid 30s during the summer due to a lot of computer equipment.

This split unit was easy to install and instantly cooled everything down. Working from home.. this unit is almost silent too so could carry on with those all-important lockdown video calls and stay cool at the same time.

Pics show out with the old... in with the new.

Best purchase I've made this year!
