Having rescued an old smallish black metal bin from a neighbour in the street having a clear-out, and using it to store my compost, I decided to buy 2 more bins 50L and 90L to store my Ericaceous compost and the 100L Perlite I have bought, that needed storing.

Having read the reviews about flimsy thin bins, I have low expectations. The bins arrived in a big card box with the smaller bin inside the bigger bin. No additional protection were inside but they arrived in good condition. The lids are more sturdy than expected and I am happy with them. The bins however are flimsy. The 90L will dent easily. The smaller one because of the shape is a tat less flimsy.

The black one, presumably made many years ago, is totally thick metal, in comparison.

For the prices and for my purpose, I am happy with them. I would not be willing to pay more money for thicker metalled bins. So good value as storage bins.

Delivered without dents. There are some aspects that prevented me giving this 6 stars. Firstly - the handles are pressed metal and have fairly sharp edges (had to sand these down). Secondly - this bin is made of galvanised metal but there were patches which were not properly galvanised and this may affect longevity. Thirdly - the lid dows not fit snugly but sits on top.
