A slightly odd clamp with limited uses

This double clamp is adequate in quality and the two clamps work OK. It will be suitable for light tasks, for example holding small items together while they're being glued. Situations where it would be beneficial to use both clamps at the same time would be rather limited, I think. You could use one clamp to attach the tool to a fixed point, and then the other clamp to hold an item steady. The screw threads work well enough but they might benefit from a tiny bit of oil so that they turn more smoothly. The plastic pad on each head is quite hard so you would need to protect delicate surfaces when clamping. The design of the tool means that it doesn't have much clamping force, which is part of the reason that it will have limited uses.

I needed to repair broken part of my bed table and this clamp is just what I needed.

It's not very heavy and perfect for some smaller clamping jobs, including gluing shoes for example.
I will not be using it for woodworking as I don't do this type of stuff but I have some broken corners which are easy to fix but never had a clamp to keep things in place.

Happy with it. It is enough for my home use.

Oh boy, where to start? If you look at the photographs, you might be expecting a set of two. But you're only going to get one. Perhaps it's my fault for not looking more closely, but I would expect a listing to be clearer.

The specifications in the listing aren't fulfilled either. The clamps don't open out to the distance specified - they're short of it. And they don't fully close either, meaning there's a minimum thickness they'll hold. Oh dear. And the rubber pad is only on one side of each clamp, meaning that if you're dealing with soft wood, you'll get impressions of the frame on the workpiece.

The frame is well-enough made out of box metal. But I really feel the shortcomings and poor listing is going to leave you with a product that disappoints.

The first thing to note is that only one clamp was received though most of the pictures including the main one showed two clamps at the time of ordering. In the 'About this item' it states 'This double clamp set...' which implies more than one, and as is often the case clamps are used as pairs and almost certainly would need to be to perform the function these are intended for.

The clamps do not fully close so there is a minimum clamping thickness which in my opinion is very relevant, and is about 6 mm on the short side and 9 mm on the long side.

In the 'About this item' it also states the clamps have a maximum opening of 8cm, which they do not, I have included pictures but the short side is about 5.4cm and the long side about 5.7cm, both of which are considerably below stated capacity.

I am also concerned that only one side of the clamp has a rubberised surface on both faces that will clamp to the surface.

I am sorry to say that I was expecting a pair of clamps, and would have deducted stars for that alone, but as the clamps lack the capacity that is stated and which would have factored into my decision, I have given them just a 1 star rating.

I recommend that it should be made abundantly clear if there is a single or pair of clamps being provided accompanied by appropriate pictures, and that the capacity should be corrected either by making the clamps to meet the capacity stated or changing the specification of the product.

As others say, only 1 clamp is provided when purchasing this item, the pictures are very deceiving.

The clamp itself is fine, but there is no easy way to remove the metal rod and reverse it. The rubber plate comes off easily, but even then, you can't take it off and turn it around, which is annoying.

As a clamp it works fine, attaches easily and the Y shape allows for keeping things secure without issue. Is not for anything heavy duty, but for most light DIY it will do a job.

For the price, you would expect 2, so I would suggest you look elsewhere for a better deal. And I would ask the seller to remove the misleading photos and remove references to a'set' in the description, which implies there will be multiple clamps included.

I received one clamp, not two. The product description is vague to how many you get for £9.99 (at the time of review) and the photos indicate two. This is not the case.

The clamp itself works smoothly and is well made, but it certainly is not for heavy duty applications. It is also debatable how useful a single clamp will be.

As a clamp this is ok, although only really for the hobby DIYer, I can not imagine this would be suitable for professional use over long periods of time.
The threads work smoothly and it is easy to tighten and loosen without much effort.

Thankfully I have other clamps that I can use this with as I only received 1 clamp, so if this is your first set of clamps you will need to order 2 for it to work efficiently.
My takeaway from this clamp is if it is to add to existing clamps you have this would be ok.
