The Abbey Road 50th Anniversary Collection
Following on from the global success of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Beatles (White Album), Apple Corps and USM are proud to present the next multi-format Beatles album reissue of Abbey Road to celebrate the iconic albums 50th anniversary.
In personal terms between the group, Abbey Road may have marked the beginning of the end but in creative terms it kept pace with the rest of the bands' -by now - classic back catalogue. Having outgrown, to some degree, the shackles of psychedelia, the Beatles began writing music that pointed to a future which they would, as an single recording entity, would have no part in. Come Together, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, and plenty of now legendary cuts on this iconic record.
Abbey Road 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Boxset
Abbey Road’s Super Deluxe box set presents 40 tracks – including “The Long One” Trial Edit & Mix for the album’s epic Side 2 medley – on three CDs and one Blu-ray disc. The four discs are housed in a slip-sleeved 12” by 12” 100-page hardbound book with McCartney’s foreword; Martin’s introduction; insightful, in-depth chapters written by Beatles historian, author, and radio producer Kevin Howlett covering the months preceding The Beatles’ Abbey Road sessions, track-by-track details and session notes, the cover art and photo shoot, and the album’s reception upon its release; plus an essay by music journalist and author David Hepworth looking at the album’s influence through 50 years. The book is illustrated previously unpublished photographs, including many taken by Linda McCartney; never before published images of handwritten lyrics, sketches, and a George Martin score; Beatles correspondence, recording sheets, and tape boxes; and reproduced original print ads.
Limited Edition.

This is the first time Abbey Road has been remixed and presented with additional session recordings and demos. To create Abbey Road’s new stereo mixes, Giles Martin and Sam Okell worked with an expert team of engineers and audio restoration specialists at Abbey Road Studios.
The Deluxe 2CD set pairs the new stereo mix, sourced directly from the original eight-track session tapes with versions taken from the session takes and demo recordings of its 17 songs, sequenced to match the album’s running order. The two discs are presented in a digipak with a 40-page booklet.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 December 2024Firstly this is a great Beatles album. It's taken me a long time to appreciate Beatles music, the songs are very diverse & fun. The quality of the vinyl is very good, very little floor noise and low static. Possibly my best sounding record, though I have a relatively small collection to date.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 January 2024Abbey Road, the iconic masterpiece from The Beatles, has been etched into the annals of music history since its original release in 1969. Now, half a century later, the 50th Anniversary Edition on vinyl breathes new life into this timeless classic, delivering an unparalleled sonic experience that transcends the boundaries of time.
From the moment the needle touches the grooves of the vinyl, it's evident that this edition has been crafted with meticulous care. The warmth and richness of the analog sound transport the listener to the hallowed grounds of Abbey Road Studios, where the Fab Four once walked in musical unison. The vinyl medium, with its inherent warmth and depth, adds an extra layer of authenticity to the experience, capturing the true essence of the recording era.
What sets this anniversary edition apart is the meticulous remastering process undertaken by Giles Martin, son of the legendary George Martin, who was the original producer of Abbey Road. Giles' commitment to preserving the integrity of the original recordings while enhancing the overall audio fidelity is nothing short of remarkable. The result is a sonic tapestry that reveals nuances and subtleties previously unheard, allowing listeners to rediscover the album with fresh ears.
The packaging itself is a work of art, paying homage to the iconic cover art while incorporating new elements that commemorate the album's enduring legacy. The attention to detail extends beyond the sound quality, with the vinyl housed in a sturdy, high-quality sleeve that ensures the physical embodiment of Abbey Road matches the sonic excellence within.
Abbey Road's 50th Anniversary Edition on vinyl is not merely a reissue; it's a celebration of musical brilliance and cultural significance. Whether you're a seasoned Beatles aficionado or a newcomer exploring the magic of Abbey Road for the first time, this edition serves as a gateway to an era when music was crafted with passion, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to artistry.
In conclusion, Abbey Road's 50th Anniversary Edition on vinyl is a must-have for any serious collector or music enthusiast. It not only pays homage to one of the greatest albums of all time but elevates the listening experience to new heights, reminding us all why The Beatles continue to be an enduring force in the realm of popular music.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 January 2023If Abbey Road isn't the Beatles' best album, then it's certainly one of them. All these years later, and it's a triumph of what happens when you put four visionaries and talented musicians in a studio and see what they create. Utter genius, and nothing less. Even when all four personalities were drifting apart, they created some astonishing music, like the eternal 'Come Together', beautiful 'Here Comes the Sun' or landmark experimental number in 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)'. But even a lot of the deeper cuts are brilliant; I confess that I dig 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer', but also adore 'Oh Darling!' and 'Octopus' Garden'. Then throw in one of the most iconic medleys of all time, and you have an album that's essential listening. This recent remix by Giles Martin is exceptional (as all of them have been in recent years), and the vinyl record itself plays wonderfully. It sounds phenomenal. It's housed in a black, lined sleeve, and the outer sleeve is high-quality - nice and glossy. Definitely a must-have for any rock or pop fan. Every inch of this thing exudes a high production.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great remix
This is arueably the best album by The Beatles. As an album, it flows perfectly all the way to the end.
And of course, it is meant to be hear through an LP. I have a CD of this album, but this LP sounded fuller for sure.
I also compared "Here comes the sun" with the Blue Album that I got in the 70s. The original mix was great, but I could hear the differences that this new mix made.
Strongly recommended for the Beatles fans and whoever is new to their music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottimo e silenzioso vinile
Meglio? Peggio? Non lo so. Chi ha l’album originale uscito parecchi decenni fa, se ancora decente e brivo dei danni dell’usura, beh, secondo me, se lo tenga stretto. 5 stelle comunque, Giles ci ha messo impegno e amore.
