This Dinosaur Play Sand Set came packed in a colourful cardboard box complete with carry case, 8 x toy dinosaurs, 14 x dinosaur shapes, 15 piece play set, 2 x bags of sand and a plastic shovel.
STORAGE CASE: the sturdy green carry case comes with a carry handle and side snap locks and is suitable for both indoor or outdoor play. The parents will love that the sand etc can be stored neatly away when not in use or closed up safely away from birds & small animals if used in the garden. The case lid comes off fully, allowing for another child to play on the opposite side. The lid on its own can also be used for a play space.
SAND: not the sand I was expecting ... BUT BETTER. Very surprised how soft and moldable this sand is and not all over the place or stuck between your fingers like normal sand would be. It is so much nicer to play with, hold in the hand and easy to form into shapes like mountains etc. Any children that hate the feel of sand on their hands will like this one as it isn't sticky, just moist. I like that the sand doesn't have a strong smell, just a new smell that fades.
PLAY ACCESSORIES (dino shapes, play set & shovel - see photos) : All parts in plastic are colourful, lightweight and without any rough edges. Perfect weight for little hands and for encouraging imagination & developmental play.
DINOSAURS: variety of 8 different dinosaurs to complete the set and enhance the play. All dinosaurs stand on flat surface. Set also comes with 2 dinosaur eggs. Eggs are a little larger than proportion to the dinos but afterthought is that the size is safer, especially if toddlers are using the set also.
For the amount of fun & entertainment it will bring - this set is good value at £25
DISLIKES:
Nothing negative to say about the set but my issue is with the display on the cardboard box.
Firstly my eyes were drawn to the colourful dinosaur birds(not sure of name) that appear in numbers on the box front & back, yet not present in the contents. I feel this is important because a child would notice, especially dinosaur lovers. Children are usually drawn to the box first and I feel this oversight would result in disappointment for the child.
Because all parts are plastic and come in a hard carry case, may I discourage the supplier use of individual plastic bags for all other parts please (with exception of sand)
RECOMMENDATION:
Very happy to recommend this play set for children from 3 years of age upwards. Toddlers under supervision would also enjoy this play set (once your child no longer chews and knows not to eat the sand). Suitable for indoor or outdoor play and for travel. Set will encourage hours of self play or shared play time. It will invoke fun & imaginative play, while aiding child development skills.
This Dinosaur Sand play set would make a lovely and inexpensive gift for any occasion and not just for summer, especially if the child is a sand lover or dinosaur fan - they will truly love this.
