This is a little frustrating but careful observation of the photos will allow you to assemble correctly.Having achieved the assembly of the safety arm, attaching it to the top of a ladder is also straightforward, but again no instructions, so look at my photo for a view of how to best achieve the attachment.Once in use, it is really effective, and the ladder feels more stable, and less prone to sideways slippage at height. Treat yourself and feel more secure when working at height around your home.
Good for light work I.e gutter clearing, painting etc. I've not used it for anything heavier so I can't comment on that. This ladder stand-off is great. it's easy to fit, well made and does a great job of moving the top of your ladders a good distance from the wall. The rubber bumpers on the "feet" protect the plaster if used indoors and grip the wall well when used outdoors...what more can you ask for at such a reasonable price?
The product is basically OK but is poorly presented. No instructions are included but if you study the photographs you can work it out. That said the hooks in the pics vary in terms of openness. Similar to another reviewer I had to re drill holes to ensure a snug fit on Abru ladders. I then had to put hooks in a vice to close them by about 15 degrees . All done now and seems fine but hassle not insignificant....
