Sir Karl Jenkins, the most performed living composer, is celebrating his 75th birthday with a brand-new album and a host of reissues from his immensely popular catalogue – all now available on Decca Records. The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace, written for the millennium, is one of Sir Karl’s most well-known compositions, which has been in the UK classical charts for 15 years. It has been performed over 2500 times since its premiere in 1999, which equates to more than 2 performances a week! It has also been in the UK classical artist chart for nearly 800 weeks. "In a rapturous performance, by turns visceral and ethereal, theÌýMassÌýwas a firebomb of orchestral and human voices.“ The Times

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2024Not normally keen on the Mass as a form of worship,
but Karl Jenkins' music setting is well worth listening to.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 July 2022Very good, but l have charge twice for this cd, once on the 11/7 and then again on the 19/7. The first cd was deemed undeliverable so l never received it, but have been charged for it. Judith

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 May 2022If you like Karl Jenkins you will love this. One of his most well known pieces, the armed man, but the whole cd is quality music. Great value and one for the collection for Jenkins fans.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 May 2019I find this whole peace emotive, and inspiring . It evokes the power of war, the human cost, the grief of those left behind but in the end the beauty of peace . I heard some of it first on classic fm but to listen to the whole piece is wonderful . I have driven my son mad by having it playing constantly on cd in my car so am having a break for now . !
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2022this is an anazing album - heard it first on Classic FM but the one track they play doesn't do the album justice. BUY IT
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 September 2021The music is beautiful, but beware, it can evoke powerful emotions, especially after reading the text. I bought this on the strength of the Benedictus, towards the end, which is truly lovely, but the other parts made me cry!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dai Nucleus ai Soft Machine alla musica classica: Sir Karl Jenkins
I Nucleus dei primi tre album ("Elastic Rock", "We'll Talk About It Later" e "Solar Plexus") e i Soft Machine (da "Six" a "Land of Cockayne") recano la decisa impronta di Karl Jenkins.
