As Time Goes By
For the first time in four years, Alfie Boe returns to the solo spotlight with the release of his vibrant and instantly classic album 'As Time Goes By'. A record that celebrates the golden era of music from the 30s and 40s, a time that is often overlooked - sandwiched as it is between the roaring twenties and rock 'n' roll.
Alfie is one of the best-loved vocalists of his generation and a hugely successful, multi-platinum selling artist. He has triumphed on theatre stages and in concert halls around the world and has two recent UK #1 albums under his belt for albums 'Together' and 'Together Again', made with his great friend Michael Ball. The duo also won two Classic BRIT Awards earlier this year for 'Best Album' and 'Group of the Year.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 December 2023A nice selection of songs from Alfie Boe
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 November 2018Was apprehensive of this CD - as daughter of parents who love original swing music I was worried that this would not sound like the genuine article. But I needn't have worried. Alfie takes this music and strips it back - you can almost hear the smoke filled night clubs with some of the these renditions. Favourite track is probably Sing, Sing, Sing mainly because I can't seem to stop singing it but the wistful 'Don't stand Ghost of a Chance with you' hits a spot while his duet with Kara Toynton on Stomping at the Savoy is very evocative. Laugh out loud song is Minnie the Moocher - Kelsey Grammer is hysterical. So yes I like this album - I played it to Mum and Dad too taking a chance. They like it too!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 May 2023Great??
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2023Beautiful songs from the past beautifully sung by our own British tenor. Enjoy
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2021Bought as a gift for a friend who, like me, adores Alfie Boe. What¡¯s not to like? She was very happy. The item arrived well packed and I would use this seller again. Thank you.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 November 2018Bought this album for my parents. I played them my signed album and they loved it so much they asked me to order for them. This is the genre of music they grew up with and they loved to hear Alfie singing these old favourites. My dad actually commented that the track My Funny Valentine was the best version he had ever heard.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2019This CD is excellent. Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band's arrangements - beautiful - very subdude and Alfie Boe does an excellent job with the songs. Nice to hear the songs not normally covered by the likes of Sinatra but still in the "big band way" - would recommend for anyone who likes the "songbook" style.
