Benfei products are consistently featuring in my top items, they are well thought out and well made and this USB-C hub is a really useful addition to an on the go system. At one time, computers had a ton of ports, but in the quest for thin and lightweight laptops, we are often sadly lacking in device connect-ability, having to rely on Bluetooth and WiFi.
My ultra-portable laptop has only two USB-C and one USB-A. One USB-C is power, the other connects to a second screen leaving me a single USB-A for everything else!

It has a pass through for charging (up to 100W)....and this is important because it also powers the hub meaning no drop-outs or power exceeded messages, Even when using a CDRW drive and and older external spinning disk HDD at the same time it performed at full speed and without errors.

In addition there is a 4k HDMI port. I am using it for a 1920x1200 display so have not tested at 4k.
It is quite small and easily fits in a laptop case for moving around, or sits neatly on a desk.
Supplied with a nice little bag too.

Really impressed with this little hub which is very well built and sturdy - featuring an elegant metal cased design. It is small and very lightweight to carry around (great for travel) and even comes with a nice soft touch (velvety) draw string carrying pouch.

There are 2 x USB-A, USB-C data, USB-C 100W charge, 1GB Ethernet (Realtek) and HDMI ports.

Overall, think it is good value at the current asking price of £27.64 and would recommend! ;)

My macbook pro has a limited amount of ports so any ways to expand its functionality is appreciated.

This hub has a number of ports ranging from USB, USB-C, Ethernet and 1 HDMI. Pretty much all you would need.

Nice metal design/build and is compact making it easy to add to my laptop bag.

All connections have worked with no issues. No complaints from me.

This ‘BENFEI’ branded hub, provides all of the following additional connectivity, for your laptop or mobile device, via a single USB-C/Thunderbolt connection:

1) USB-C PD power input, to charge/power your laptop/mobile device (90W pass through)
2) HDMI connection for a monitor, TV or projector (up to 4K @ 60Hz)
3) RJ45 Gig Ethernet connection, with port activity indicators (up to 1000 Mbps)
4) 2 x USB3.0 ports (up to 625 Mbps transfer rate)
5) USB-C data port (up to 625 Mbps transfer rate).

I think you’ll agree that the above list is impressive, as is the quality of this silver/grey metal-cased hub. The connection to your laptop, phone etc., is via a (25cm) flexible cable, with a nice black braided outer sheath and good cable restraints. The metal-cased plug has gold-plated internal contacts, and connects positively to a USB-C socket.

The HDMI port, makes it easy to connect to an external monitor or TV/Projector, and the USB-C PD power input, means that you don’t have to worry about your battery running down whilst delivering a presentation. And, if you need to access online content, or host a video conference, then the wired Ethernet connection will provide a fast, reliable alternative to Wi-Fi.

The media could not be loaded.

I have connected it to my Microsoft Surface USB C port and used it with my 4k monitor over HDMI (and also tried with 4K Samsung TV over HDMI). So, I plugged in printer, an external drive, a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse, monitor and connected directly to the internet line, everything worked great. I connected RJ45 LAN cable with gigabit internet and I was able to get excellent speeds on LAN. Built quality is good and very light weight. I haven’t noticed any lag while using this device even for very long times.
The device works perfectly with a 100W USB-C External power adapter (NOT included) for pass-through charging via Type-C port to keep laptop powered. The device stays cool even during intensive use. The connection is stable and fast, and the additional ports offer many options. This device made my life easier, just plug the BENFEI USB-C adapter to laptop and everything is ready to go and, unplug it and laptop ready to go!.

Overall, the BENFEI USB-C adaptor is a great choice especially using a connected internet (vs WiFi) and HDMI out for the second monitor. It is well designed and compact in size. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this affordable and powerful device!

I have connected it to my Microsoft Surface USB C port and used it with my 4k monitor over HDMI (and also tried with 4K Samsung TV over HDMI). So, I plugged in printer, an external drive, a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse, monitor and connected directly to the internet line, everything worked great. Everything works on Mac, but HDMI requires DisplayLink driver on Linux/Windows

I got this mainly for use as a docking station for my Linux laptop. Everything worked except the HDMI output (which is one of my primary goals for the device). After fussing with it occasionally for several weeks, I found that I needed the DisplayLink driver. I had heard of DisplayLink enough that I expected modern Linux distributions would have support for it, but not even the latest Ubuntu comes with the driver built-in; you have to download it from support.displaylink.com. I was also surprised to find that several Windows 11 systems I plugged this into also did not have support for DisplayLink by default. The only Macbook I plugged it into worked on the first try.

I would normally deduct a star for the hassle of installing a nonstandard driver (and not included in the package), but DisplayLink is the ideal implementation for an HDMI port over USB, and it's not the manufacturer's fault that it isn't widely supported out-of-the-box yet.

The USB hub detects as a USB 3.2 Bridgesil 4-port hub (35d6:3510), and the ethernet is a simple RealTek 8153 chip (0bda:8153) attached to the internal USB hub. It was detected on every Linux/Windows/Mac I plugged it into.

I also verified the pass-through power works. You can plug in a single plug and have power supplied to your laptop at the same time as it connects the keyboard/mouse, network, and video (once you get the driver installed)

Je suis satisfait de cet adaptateur USB-C. Il est parfaitement compatible avec mon MacBook Air M1 et il n'y a eu aucun problème pour le brancher dessus. Les ports sont solides et l'ensemble des ports (USB-A, HDMI, port de charge) m'assure que je pourrais y brancher tout ce dont j'ai besoin.
La mise en place est immédiate, rien à installer, et joli alu brossé, il s'intègre bien avec mon Mac. Il est vraiment léger et petit, c'est pratique pour le trimbaler et plus pratique pour le bureau sans être gêné.
Bref, on parle bien d'un bon produit, tout ce qu'on attend d'un hub, parfait pour ceux qui possèdent un Mac Air !

Contrariamente a quanto si possa pensare degli articoli di basso costo, questo prodotto non solo é molto conveniente ma anche ben costruito. Nonostante sia molto compatto offre una sufficiente distanza tra un ingresso e l'altro così da poter sfruttare bene tutte le svariate porte a disposizione, ampliando notevolmente gli ingressi USB dei dispositivi portatili che notoriamente non hanno più di due o tre ingressi.

Su questo hub é presente anche una scheda di rete molto efficiente che in alcune circostanze può essere molto comoda.
