I bought this to power a laptop when working away from home which it did flawlessly. I did try a travel kettle with a mains plug on it, but it was too power-hungry for this to manage.
The USB sockets could be better positioned as on of them sits close enough to the 3 pin socket that a bulky plug (like on my laptop) could partially cover one of them. Thankfully, I only needed one USB, so it wasn’t an issue for me.
The cooling fan is very quiet and can really only be heard if there is no other sound at all. The LED is a comforting sight telling you, at a glance, that everything is working .
Check what the power ratings are on anything you want to plug into this. It can't deal with high drain items, but for the price I wouldn't expect it.
It is quite bulky and if your lighter socket is recessed, it probably won't fit, another slight design flaw. It won't fit in a Kia Niro, but did fit in my truck which had a flush fitting socket. Oh, and it is 12v only. It will not work in a 24v outlet - the instructions state this, but I also tried it in the name of science.
Brilliant bit of kit as long as you have wide access to the socket and you don't want too much power. But what you get for the price is good value.
