Product description
Raclette is a pasteurised, semi-hard, cows milk cheese with a creamy texture; and a salty, slightly sweet and nutty flavour. Originating in Switzerland, this cheese is now largely produced in the Savoie and Auvergne regions of France. In France, the dish of ‘raclette‘ involves melting the slices of this cheese and then serving over potatoes with charcuterie and cornichons, although it can also be enjoyed un-melted too. For making raclette, you can get a raclette grill for use in the home, although a pie dish in the oven works just as well. Another famous French recipe that uses raclette cheese is tartiflette, which is a hearty stew that also includes bacon, onion and sliced potatoes cooked in cream and white wine. Raclette cheese is a good substitute for any recipe that calls for Comte or Gruyere. We always aim to send out products with the longest best before date possible, and you can expect 4 days as a minimum.
