Snipped the top off and stuck it in the plant pot. Feed has drained into the soil after a few days but I just keep watering cos the nutrients will still be in the soil. I'd forget to feed my plants probably so I'm sure they appreciate it. The tip was a bit difficult to cut through though but I got it done without too much difficulty.
UPDATE the plant food has not seeped into the soil at all... it just looked like it had. The wee bottle is still quite full... sorreee 😔

I managed somehow to kill 2 expensive Calatheas, one dying overnight for some reason. Although both plants had no visible stalks these things and some filtered water brought them back with new growth and to already healthy plants it spawned new growth. I realise its fertliser but I've had similar versions in the past and they haven't been very successful so I'll be buying more of these in the future. They may be more expensive but they actually do the job.
