From the manufacturer
They were ordinary men, swept up in the most extraordinary conflict in history. But with the eyes of the world upon them, they found their greatest source of strength in each other.
Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and HBO present the story of Easy Company, an elite team of U.S. paratroopers whose World War II exploits are as incredible as they are true.
This landmark ten-part miniseries based on Stephen E. Ambrose's non-fiction best-seller recounts the remarkable achievements of a volunteer rifle company that parachuted into France on D-Day, spearheaded the Market-Garden and Rhine offensives, fought the Nazis in Bastogne and the Bulge and captured Hitler's 'impenetrable' Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden in 1945.
Product description
All ten episodes of the award-winning mini-series based on the real-life experiences of American paratroopers who fought in Europe during the Second World War. From their training in Camp Toccoa, Georgia, through their landing in Normandy as part of the D-Day offensive, their participation in the Battle of the Bulge, and all the way up to the final surrender of the German forces, the series follows the adventures of Easy Company, a unit noted for its skill and bravery, but which also suffered a high number of casualties in its journey across Europe. Each episode also features excerpts from actual interviews with surviving members of the company.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 February 2022I recommend that anyone contemplating viewing this series also reads the book either before or after. Books offer details that simply cannot be included in film adaptations. They also include occasional inventions of the scriptwriters. Band of Brothers does contain some deliberate inaccuracies although these are slight. The acting and portrayal of events is thoroughly realistic, well-researched, believable and gripping. It is far better than any Hollywood portrayal of WW2 events mainly because of it's attention to characters afforded by its length and its attention to detail. If you are interested in this aspect of WW2 then I'm sure you would need little persuasion to see this. It is now an important historical document, as is the book and also the several later personal accounts by surviving members of E Company.
Steven Ambrose does not quite do justice to the man who made this all possible, Pte. D. Kenyon Webster (portrayed in the drama) who first wrote of his time in training and combat in essays and later a book entitled Parachute Infantry which Ambrose quotes from many, many times in his WW2 books yet he never mentions Webster's writings except to say that he was a journalist after the war and also wrote about sharks. If it wasn't for Ambrose finding Webster's writing he would never have gone on to research E Company and then write the book 'Band Of Brothers'.

1.0 out of 5 stars Band of Brothers return procedure isn't working
This DVD doesn't play. "Err Dr". Is this the only kind of DVD you sell for Band of Brothers or do you sell any which actually work? If this is not a code 1 USA thing, why do you sell it in the normal place?
I tap " return or replace". Then I tap reason: "defective". Next comes "continue ". " Continue " isn't working. Clever, ÍøÆغÚÁÏ - advertise you have a return capability when actually you don't.
