The padding is very stable when attached to the bar and doesn’t slip easily. Barbell pads suit a variety of users including those with traps be it for squatting, hip thrusts, lunges, donkey calf raises on smith machines etc to name just a few. Given the wide range of people I train with pads come in handy at all stages of the workout program and certainly help when it comes to cushioning certain delicate areas of the body.

I have had quite a few barbell pads over time many great and many not so. The biggest problems with some pads is that some aren't secure enough when fitted to a bar as they have no securing feature such as a flap of material that is held in place to stop it from falling off when performing the exercise. Another couple of issues that I have come across with some pads is that they either don't fit properly on to Olympic bars or if they do some will rotate due to having a too large a hole in the middle. I refer my pads to be fixed in place thereby giving an overall secure feeling which in effect other than the padded feeling you wouldn't really think that a pad was in place. Thankfully the pad from Beast Gear meets my minimum requirements in terms of fitment fine.

The construction of the pad seems to be good with no apparent weaknesses especially the areas where the material is stitched at the ends and along the velcro fastening. Unlike similar designed pads there are not raised logos or badges to cause and uneven uncomfortable feeling when in use which through certain clothing is most noticeable. The material itself is of a good weave where unlike the vinyl coated types doesn't cause any slipping when positioned on the back, anyone who has tried the vinyl coated pads will know what I am relating to.

The loop at the end of the pad helps wrap the securing flap tight which again if anyone has tried to do without such a feature will know how much of a fight it is given the small amount of fabric that can be gripped.

Initially taking the pad out of the packaging the foam does has a slight odour which is common with many foam products that are sealed in their wrappers post production but give it time to air and it will be dissipate.

In terms of comfort and effectiveness the pad works well in not only adding a little cushioning which comes in handy on big lifts but also doesn't feel over sized when performing some exercises such as barbell hip thrusts.

For the money its a well made product that serves well.

I received my Beast Barbell pad Saturday last week. The service was very efficient. I saw the product on line on Friday, ordered it Friday afternoon, 24 hours later I had it. In terms of comfort and effectiveness the pad works well. Some pads aren't secure enough when fitted to a bar, the hole is sometimes too big and the pad rotates. This pad has a very snug fit and a good Velcro flap all along its length.
The construction of the pad is very good with strong material and good stitching. The material itself is much better than the vinyl coated ones, which can be slippery.
I believe that the pad is well made and good value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
On another point, the after sales service is very good. Ben, the owner of Beast Gear contacted me to make sure that I got the product and that I was happy with it. You don’t often get to deal with someone who care that much. Thanks Ben. I have since been onto your web site and bought sliders and a skipping rope. I am looking forward to getting those in my gym.

After years of sitting hunched at a desk on a computer with poor posture, my spine pokes out a bit at the top of my shoulders - which when doing squats with a barbell hurts, alot!

I bought this cushion after a friend who is a gym instructor recommended I use one and it makes such a difference!

The fabric quality and level of padding is perfect and it's very easy to use - simply undo the velcro, place over the bar and close the velcro.

Where this product is let down a bit is the print quality and stitching. The logo looks great but it has been printed a bit funny and looks blurry compared the to product images. The stitching is by no means bad, it's just not that good. I am leaving the pad on my bar as it doesn't really get in the way when I am using the bar for other exercises, but I imagine if you took this on and off a lot, the velcro strips stitching would eventually come loose.

Overall, not a bad buy, but there may be better out there for the price.

I have recently taken weight training to a new level working out with a friend. I’d been struggling with the inferior pads at the two gyms I work out in and have bruised the top of my spine on occasions squatting with the barbell. I ordered a pad off amazon previously but it was utterly useless - falling off and not even meeting round the bar. I was refunded.
I’ve only used the Beast pad a few times and it is excellent quality fitting snuggly round an Olympic barbell and fastening with the Velcro. This enables me to train harder without fear of bruising or hurting my back. It is lightweight and easy to pop on top of my gym bag.
Shame that gyms that charge an arm and a leg for membership don’t invest in a few of these! Very happy 😃

Es un artículo muy útil para el entrenamiento. Personalmente hago flexiones de tronco en suspensión desde una jaula de calistenia y lo utilizo para proteger las fosas poplíteas de ambas rodillas; he encargado otro modelo de protector para colocarlo en la barra de apoyo en la que encajo las tibias, y ya opinaré sobre el mismo cuando llegue.

Sobre este de Beast Bear, destacar su principal ventaja e inconveniente: el velcro. El velcro permite una fijación muy buena, pero para mi caso particular, la almohadilla rota al entrar en posición y he de recolocarla cada vez que voy a subirme a la barra. No es gran cosa, pero aquel calisténico interesado queda avisado.

Otro problema que le veo al velcro es su desgaste. Eventualmente todo velcro pierde eficacia, y ya veremos cuánto dura este. De momento, lo que es la espuma interior va perfecta, sin signos de aplastamiento ni roturas.

Es un buen producto.

Manchon de très bonne qualité, mousse épaisse et compact, elle est pas prête à se tasser dans le temps, le scratch est solide, très bon confort lors des squats lourds.
C'est agréable de plus avoir de douleurs en fin d’exercice, le seul reproche que je pourrais faire est la fermeture du scratch sur une barre olympique est un poil difficile du au diamètre intérieur un peu petit du manchon mais une fois fixé sa bouge pas ;).
A voir la tenu du scratch dans le temps maintenant car c'est le default de la plupart des manchons.

Das Polster passt grade so auf meine 30/31er Langhantelstange, der Klettverschluss lässt sich nur mit ordentlich zug schließen.
Daher sitzt es absolut fest, ein selbständiges Drehen ist somit ausgeschlossen und dank der Daumenschlaufe sollte es auch keine Probleme bei der jeweiligen Übung geben. Das auf einmal die Stange ohne Polsterung im Nacken liegt wie bei vielen anderen Nackenpolstern üblich, dürfte hier also nicht passieren. Das Material ist strapazierfähig und es stinkt auch nichts beim Auspacken.
Besser sitzt das Polster sicherlich auf einer 28er Stange, hier dürfte sich der Klettverschluss besser schließen lassen.
Ob es bei einer 25er Stange noch stramm sitzt kann ich nicht wirklich sagen, ich denke aber schon und es gibt ja zur Not noch die Daumenschlaufe.
