STOPS AND PREVENTS - Bill and Ben Prevent and Repair is a foliar treatment that helps your Boxwood recover from damage and increases its resistance to disease.
PROFESSIONAL DOSAGE – the product contains 200g of powdered solution, each packet suffices for 100m2 of Boxwood. Simply put 1x5g scoop in 1 Litre of water and wait to dissolve. Then apply to Boxwood by using a pressure sprayer. 1x5g scoop will treat 2.5m2.
NATURAL FERTILISER - Bill & Ben Prevent and Repair is a natural leaf fertilizer with no chemicals.

Directions:

To use Bill & Ben Prevent and Repair, mix 1x5g scoop of the powdered solution with 1 Liter of water. Stir until fully dissolved. Apply the solution to Buxus hedges using a pressure sprayer. The treatment covers 2.5m2 per 1x5g scoop. Repeat as necessary to cover the entire 100m2 area.

I like that this is a natural leaf fertilizer. I was looking for something to repair my box balls, which are starting to look mangy. It seems to have been a lousy year for box blight. I hope this will strengthen the ground on which the box grows and help it resist further blight.

I found this product too late in the season as the instructions say to apply between April and November, and I didn't receive it until the beginning of December. Still, I fully intend to use it in April, hoping it will make a difference. Otherwise, I will have to pull them out and burn them.

The instructions conflict as the pack says to water the soil around the box, and the ��غ�� instructions say to apply it with a pressure sprayer. I will try both. I will update my review once I have used the product and seen any difference in the spring.

The packaging is resealable, which is a good thing.

I have had issues with box blight leaving ugly dead patches on my Buxus hedges for years. I used a few products with relative success but this product really helped. The patches seem to be healing up nicely. Also a nice touch to have degradable packaging

I have a total of seven potted topiary box plants in my garden, all of which I have trained into various shapes over the past 20 years. I usually feed my plants with just a general granular fertiliser twice a year, and they have always done well. However, this year, they have started to look slightly shabby. I haven't needed to clip them at all during the summer, as they haven't produced any new growth. They haven't lost any leaves, but they just don't look as healthy as they have in all the years I've had them. These are some of the reasons that Bill and Ben's Buxus Hedge Prevent & Repair caught my attention.
The directions say, and I quote: "Mix 5g of the powder in 1 litre of water and wait until dissolved properly. Water the soil around the boxwood 3-4 times per season, from April to November." This information completely contradicts the directions on the item's listing page, which say, and I quote again: "Put 1x5g scoop in 1 litre of water and wait to dissolve. Then apply to Boxwood by using a pressure sprayer." This makes much more sense to me, as the product is called a leaf fertilizer. I would presume the second set of directions from the listing page are the correct ones. The product should be applied using a pressure sprayer, directly onto the leaves themselves.
It's November at the moment, so I will need to wait five months to give this a try. However, it does look like a professional product, even if the instructions are confusing. I have high hopes that it will help my slightly struggling Buxus plants and prevent them from contracting Box Blight. I will use it two or three times during the growing season, using a pressure sprayer. As they say, "Prevention is always better than cure!"

This appears to be the very product for which my partner has been searching. She has six Buxus hedges of varying sizes and ages growing in the garden and several of them consistently suffer from damaged foliage despite her best efforts to care for them. She had thought that they had caught blight and was going to dig them all out until she consulted with an expert who advised she try clipping them back and waiting to see how they faired the next season before doing so.

They did come back the next year with good foliage but, midway through the year their leaves started to shrivel again. Since then she has been on the lookout for natural remedies to treat the condition and this "Buxus Prevent and Repair" by Bill & Ben looked promising. The only problem is that we got it too late in the year as, according to the packet, treatment shouldn't commence until roughly April time so, unfortunately there's a while to wait before she can try it out.

Meanwhile she has said that she feels the price for the product is fair, the fact that no chemicals are used in its manufacture is excellent (her garden is all organic), and she's pleased that this is a product which is manufactured in the UK. Overall it seems like the ideal solution to her damaged Buxus but only time will tell.

I ordered this product because I have two large display bushes with the blight and now, it's spread a little into a nearby hedge. For the moment I've clipped them back hard. I'm intending to try Bill & Ben on all three. If there is no improvement at all I'll remove and burn next year.

The instructions indicate using between April and November but because I live in the mild South West I shall take a chance and use the Bill & Ben this week. Whilst this is a fertiliser rather than a Blight Destroying Mixture, I hope that the nurture will encourage my plants to throw off the infection.

I approve of the fact that this product is relatively natural and manufactured in the UK. It arrived in adequate but minimal packing. Good job.

No negatives at present - a good price for the quantity if this works. I shall return and update the review in time.

Compost fertiliser not sure how repairs

My Bill & Ben fertiliser is for use April to November so I am unable to test this at the moment.
From this and the bag saying it’s a compost fertiliser I think this is a feed to help my box trees get the right ‘stuff’ to help the leaves grow well in growing season.
Box blight I have read a bit on and the bit I read was if appears I trim and use fungicide so I am not sure if this prevents by stopping spores around the base of the plant.
It says it’s non toxic but to take precautions - gloves, face protection, harmful if swallowed so remove contaminated clothes and wash hands.
Sounds quite strong to me. Perhaps it kills spores too. There is a MSDS on request.
