Art Blenders
I haven’t come across these before, I usually use silicon blenders but I thought I would give these a go. They are made of tightly rolled paper and you get a set of 12 which are all different sizes and shapes. Some have points at both ends and some, mainly the smaller ones have points at just one end. The paper has a very soft surface giving a smooth but almost brushed feel to it. The points are quite fine but I would imagine that they will soften very easily being paper which could be good or bad depending on what you want to use them for. These blenders can be used with graphite, pencils, pastels etc and once used you can tear off the top surface of paper to reveal a clean layer below. I’m not sure how many times you could do that though before the structure of the blender is compromised. I tried the blenders out using my graphite drawing pencils and they worked very well enabling me to move the graphite around with precision creating shadows with ease. I also tried them with my oil pastels which was also very successful. I’m not sure how long these would last me but they aren’t expensive so they’re a useful tool to have at your disposal. I don’t think I would stop using my silicone blenders but these are good to have in addition. You can never have too many blending tools lol
