Sounds great, really catchy tunes to throw on - had to buy this after seeing CMAT's performance on The Graham Norton show 😍 she is an amazing artist 🇮🇪 and I love how the 'special edition' is blue and white but this vinyl is ALSO coloured - a lovely bright orange🧡 so happy I bought this on a whim to add to my collection. Relatable and fun lyrics too😅
i have a sound setup when recordings are good they sound amazing , and when there bad they sound awful, i heard bad reviews about the previous album on vinyl, but hoped this would be better ,very disserpointed , will buy on CD hopefully that will sound better
I was a little disappointed with this album, I bought this one after I had purchased, the new CD, the new CD I thought was really really good and I still play this one regularly
La descrizione più efficace della musica di CMAT (acronimo di Ciara Mary Alice Thompson) l’ha trovata Pitchfork parlando di “risposta di Dublino a Dolly Parton”. Definizione intrigante e pertinente per una giovane cantautrice capace, a partire da esperienze profondamente intime, di uno sguardo che riesce ad allargarsi sino ad inglobare l’orizzonte emotivo dell’ascoltatore. Tuttavia, benché il substrato affine a quello dell’amatissima icona Country sia chiaramente visibile, la scrittura della Thompson ha in più un respiro pop niente affatto distante da quello di una Adele “meno istituzionale” che lascia a casa il desiderio di piangersi addosso. Anche i momenti migliori di Angus & Julia Stone sono davvero dietro l’angolo. Ad appena un anno di distanza dal brillate If My Wife New I’d Be Dead (si, scritto proprio con il New al posto del Knew) arriva la seconda prova con questo CrazyMad, For Me, un singolare concept allestito intorno all’alter ego quarantasettenne dell’autrice e ad una macchina del tempo sgangherata che forniscono l’originalissimo pretesto per cantare di amori (tossici) scivolati via, cuori spezzati e (soprattutto) tempo che fluisce, inesorabile, senza mai ritornare sui propri passi. Il tutto secondo un’angolazione surreale che non solo favorisce l’empatia con l’ascoltatore ma ne attira l’attenzione con la promessa di peculiarità liriche che non vengono certo disattese. In questo Ritorno Al Futuro dei sentimenti viene trascinato anche John Grant che eleva la poetica, struggente ed ironica, di Where Are Your Kids Tonight? Le canzoni di CMAT sono un compendio di melodramma post moderno e non vogliono saperne di arrendersi al ciclico ripetersi degli eventi preferendo piuttosto la ricerca utopica di un altrove che dia senso alle curve dell’esistenza. Con premesso del genere è impossibile non attendere con curiosa impazienza gli sviluppi di un simile talento. 7,5/10
