Get your bucket, place this on top, put some peanut butter on the inside lip above the trap door and leave a trail of goodies to entice the rodents toward the plank and they will definitely fall right in. Whether you want it to be a humane trap or a kill trap, it will work either way. Just fill the bucket halfway with water if you want to dispatch them before you get to them. Just be sure to check the trap multiple times a day or else it will get stinky from decomposition.
