I bought these on a whim as the price is so good. I was staying with the extended family shortly before Christmas, and wanted to take photos of the young children who were present. As the children were too young to concentrate on the camera, I had the idea to mount my phone to the top and play children's videos.
This adapter allowed me to mount a phone holder and phone to the top of my camera, and rotate the phone so that the children could see the screen. It attached very quickly thanks to the screws, and was very sturdy.
I have no doubt that it will hold a light or microphone, or any other accessory that you might need to attach to your camera's hot shoe.
