I am mystified by the review with the headline "Not for beginners"
This camera is specifically aimed at beginners. It is very easy to use in point and shoot mode and takes great pictures. It also has more advanced features for more experienced users.
The comment that has been made that it cannot be used without the flash popping up is not correct. It has a specific setting for a point and shoot mode WITHOUT the flash. All you need to do is turn the dial one click clockwise past the green auto setting. It has a flash sign that is crossed out. This setting will give you all the auto features WITHOUT the flash.
I hope this helps users who have been annoyed by the flash popping up.
I have had this camera some time. I have used it a lot and can say that it is a great camera and takes great pictures.
