This isnt like your standard chinese LED controller that dims from 0 - 12v- when this is done, the lights only start faintly coming on at roughly DMX level 128, and this messes up colour mixing.
This controller starts dims LEDs perfectly. They are lit faintly even at DMX level 1 and dim perfectly in perfect increments up to DMX 255, meaning colour mixing is really good.
