Bought it to sit on with my electric guitar for easier & comfortable playing:
1. It is a heavy chair, not portable but good when used in a room it's staying put in it
2. Easy to assemble
3. Padded seat & headrest made for a comfortable feel & leather feel
4. As I'm 5'2 quite short, the middle leg rest bar was at perfect height to rest my legs while playing without feeling too high up
5. Height of chair & height of headrest can be adjusted so makes for a tailor fitted seat
6. My chair came with a slight hole in the bottom which i duct taped over & it hasn't affected my comfort but just be aware if you do purchase this chair.
6. I would recommend it for those who are planning on the keeping the chair in 1 room & are going to use the features it comes with

I got this stool a couple of weeks ago and unpacked it. The assembly was simple enough and it looks pretty sturdy lots of square steel tubes and a nice round padded seat.

Howeve, the first problem was the back rest.

There is a bolt that threads through a hole in the base tube of the seat and screws into a threaded hole in the backrest support arm. Actually there are 2. The first one I tried set the back rest too far back so I then tried the second hole. The hole itself is a welded in nut and as soon as I tried to attach it, it jammed. I took it apart and tried putting the bolt directly into the hole to loosen it up and the weld broke allowing the threaded nut to spin freely. So now the stool has no back rest as I can't get the bolt out.

Later that day an adult student of mine was sat on the stool and crack! the seat broke away from the metal structure and sheered off completely. Luckily the stool was set low so the student had his feet on the ground and thus didn't fall down and injure himself. The only thing holding you on top of this rigid structure are 4 tiny weld points holding the seat structure together.

Be warned!

My student owns a welding company and is going to weld the seat structure properly with 2 seams rather than 4, 2mm points. My mother can weld better than whoever did this shoddy and dangerous workmanship. If I were the director of Chord I would be VERY concerned.

It does fold up and you can separate the backrest and the seat to carry to and from gigs - but, it is not lightweight metal and the quality of the threads on the screws is not the high quality that will last very long. The screws are definitely a weak point in the build quality. Constant setting up and dismantling will soon see the threads go. And it is too heavy to be handy and portable.

Also, the back rest jiggles about even when the screw is fastened as tight as possible.

The seat and back rest are well padded. The padding is very thick and the seat is a good size and is very comfortable - so this stool would be ideal for someone who could set it up and leave it set up in the studio or music room.
But if you are a musician who needs a fold up, lightweight stool that will stand up to being unscrewed after every gig, set up again at the next one and carried about in the van from gig to gig, you will need one with better quality metal screws.

I'm afraid I returned this and got a full refund and so I'm on the hunt for such a beast now I have discovered this one isn't the right one for me.
