4.0 out of 5 stars Jenkins is REAL!
Recorded as a response of hope as vaccines began battling the pandemic¡¯s spread, mezzo Katherine Jenkins enlisted the help of singers Alberto Urso, Bryn Terfel, and Marisha Wallace, plus the Mark De-Lisser Singers and a 30-piece orchestra, to create a near-perfect panoply of plum-pudding pleasantries. The extensive collection of holiday material ranges from the longing ¡°O Come O Come Emmanuel,¡± and a fervent ¡°I Believe¡± to the war-torn weariness of ¡°Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas¡± and the naughty coquettishness of ¡°Santa, Baby.¡± Jenkins is equally at home with the classical and the classic, though, on occasion, the arrangements seem a bit rushed, leaving Jenkins spitting out words to catch up with the orchestra. The only big misstep is the percussion-laden ¡°all-skate¡± through ¡°Mary, Did You Know,¡± which weakens the hushed reverence required for this song. That quibble aside, considering the compromising circumstances under which this program was recorded, Christmas Spectacular IS just that. And when I read the heartfelt and humanitarian reach that Jenkins expresses in the liner notes, I was taken back to the exclusive, post-performance, one-on-one, supervised meet-and-greet which Jenkins granted our then ten-year-old grandson (a fan since age four), and from which she had photos sent to him. He went to the moon and back. Jenkins is real.

4.0 out of 5 stars Katherine Jenkins at Christmas
As usual this beautiful lady with the beautiful voice sang magnificently but The selection of music wasn't my idea of appropriate Christmas music that one would expect to hear at Christmas.
