The two disc compilation comprise excerpts of intrinsically beautiful works of Classical music written by famous or well known composers that include Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Prokofiev. You obtain the distinct feeling that the music which includes chorals, was specifically selected to provide the listener with beauty, soothing, relaxation, and inspiration and in this regard it succeeds admirably.

Their composition spans a time frame of centuries commencing with the 17th century and the Baroque. In this regard we listen to Allegri's 'Miserere', written for performance in the Sistine Chapel, Vivaldi's best known composition, 'The Four Seasons' and Bach''s 'Brandenburg Concerto No.3'. At the other end of the spectrum, we have works by contemporary, living composers. We listen to Karl Jenkins', 'The Armed Man' which is the most performed work by a living artist and Einaudi's 'I Giorni' representative of his elegant music.

The compilation commences with the beloved composition by the English composer, Vaughan Williams, 'The Lark Ascending' while we listen to beautiful works by two other English composers namely 'The Planets' by Holst and the 'Cello Concerto' by Elgar. It concludes with Tchaikovsky's '1812 Overture' while the penultimate piece is Beethoven's 'Choral Symphony No.9' possibly the best Symphony ever written and constituting the Hymn Of the European Union.

Delivery fine. Quality fine. Disappointed that only the last 5 minutes of most pieces are featured or it ends prematurely. Otherwise not bad for the price.
