TEAMPD Digital to analog audio converter with volume control

Why do you need a DAC audio converter?

Most TVs nowadays do not come with a headphone jack. If this bothers you too, then you will need a digital to analogue audio converter.
Our audio converters come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The aluminium material is highly resistant to interference, and the electronic noise reduction technology improves the signal and enhances the overall listening experience.
For the elderly in the family, the DAC converter is a boon, allowing them to hear clearer and more stereo sound when they have headphones on.

Warm Tips:

Be sure to connect a USB power supply for the audio converter to work, please use a 5V 1A plug.
Please set the audio output channel of your source device such as DVD, TV, PS4, Panasonic TV, etc. to SPDIF and set the output audio format to PCM.
Setting steps: Device Home - System Settings - Picture and Sound - Voice Settings - Digital Audio Output - PCM/LPCM.
The DAC may have some compatibility issues with Youtube or Netflix.
Before turning on your device, turn the audio converter counterclockwise to minimise the sound and avoid damage to your hearing.
The adapter is not compatible with 5.1 channel signals such as Dolby AC3.
When you want to adjust the volume, you can adjust the volume using the product wheel, or try adjusting your input or output device to increase the volume.

Adjustment of the volume

I bought this to give me a headphone output from my Denon DCD-900 Hi Fi CD player.
At just under 10 quid it's an absolute bargain!
Great to see the micro USB power socket is now a USB C - that was an unexpected treat - I hate micro USB sockets!
The unit is well built, small and neat with good quality connectors. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a little volume control which is nicely dampened to give a great physical feel.
The volume control was so important with my intended use, otherwise the raw audio from a similar unit without the volume control would have taken my hearing out!
I simply plugged the included USB C to USB power cable into a phone charger and the included optical toslink connector from my CD player's optical output to the input on this gadget.
Plugged my lovely Sony studio headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack, turned the volume down to 1/4, pressed play on a CD and...
To my surprise and joy, I was enjoying absolutely superb sound reproduction!
What a fantastic box of tricks!
No noise, no distortion, just pure, detailed Hi Fi audio.
My first impressions are that I'm blown away by this device, but time will tell if the joy keeps giving!
I promise to update a few months down the line, to let you know if I'm still so pleased with my purchase!

I wanted a widget to feed headphones from my Samsung TV, which only has an optical output.

I’ve got this connected to one of those budget valve headphone amps (already own that), and use either Grado SR60 or Audio Technica K92 headphones. It can probably feed the headphones directly, but I suspect it’s just a way to get some noise to your ears. I’m not concerned about any of the multi-channel options, I only intend to use this for headphones, so a decent stereo sound is all I wanted from it, and it manages that just fine.

The sound is great with this converter box. I had been using a Bluetooth adapter, but struggling to get a decent sound. Switching to the optical feed has made a massive difference. It feels well made, and supplied with decent enough cables. Just remember to switch your TV sound to PCM mode.

Can’t find anything to fault here, and the price of it makes it a no brainer for a punt (you can spend this much on a bunch of cheap cables).

I purchased one of these for use on our bedroom TV to when playing games at night wearing headphones as Bluetooth was a little bit too laggy. The converter has two inputs, an RCA/phono connection for SPDIF digital input and an TOSLINK optical digital input. Outputs include a 3.5mm audio output for headphones and two RCA/phono sockets for left and right audio output. There's also a small volume control knob to adjust the headphones volume (not sure if it adjusts the phono output too, I haven't tried that).

Power is provided by MicroUSB, a cable is included but you'll need a USB charger (I read somewhere it has to be 1 amp/1000mA). I did try an old mobile phone charger but found there was a very slight bit of interference, however using a USB charger from a FireTV stick works fine and doesn't have the interference.

I've tried the converter with our Panasonic TV using and using a MiSTer using a digital IO board from MiSTerFPGA.co.uk and they both work fine without any noticeable lag.

For the money it's great value and I can highly recommend it.

L'idée était de sortir le son du téléviseur sur la chaine hifi et les enceintes. La TV n'est équipée que d'une sortie digitale optique. J'ai donc utilisé cet appareil pour raccorder la sortie optique aux entrées RCA de l'ampli. Au début, pas de son ! juste un bruit désagréable. Il faut, dans les paramètres de la TV, trouver ceux de la sortie optique et régler sur PCM à la place de dolby surround. Et hop ! Le tour est joué.
