As a product designer student I often find myself using and experimenting with a variety of tools including Pliers for DIY projects. After a couple uses of these Joint Pliers by Convy, I can confirm that these are an excellent pair and worth picking up. No need to rinse your wallet on a pair of joint pliers, you can pick these up for just under £8 (currently), and in honesty, these are just as good as leading brands.

The build quality of these Pliers are great, made of some serious heavy duty materials including carbon steel for the teeth. The handle is made from TPR (Thermoplastic Elastomer) which not only makes the pliers ergonomic and comfortable to hold, but also helps to make the pliers lighter and hence easier to handle. I can tell that these pliers should last for the years to come, very durable build and material.

When using I noticed that the pliers Jaw had an excellent grip whenever I would tighten Bolts. This is thanks to the 7 gear mechanism which allows for a wide range of grip on a variety of bolt/nut shapes and sizes.

Overall, 5 stars!

My 'go to'pipe pliers are made by Crescent and these compare in size, but they weigh in on the heavy side, the handles are quite thick and the jaws a little clunky, that is not to say they are not effective and wearing them in a little will no doubt increase the ease of use. They will open up and be useable at a full 8 centimetres but for practical use its jaws are fully open and the handles closed at 3½cm.
No price on site, so that doesn't help rating them, but the 'Finder' range is not in an expensive category. For occasional use I would go for three stars, I will re-evaluate if and when a price appears.

When I say that you need to discount what ��غ�� calls them and just call them mole grips, the experienced tools user will know what I mean. Essentially a pair of strong pliers with a variable hinge point. So useful in so many situations when working on pretty much any kind of machine. These are sturdy and comfy to hold.

Hmm. One of the things about reviewing something is the price because what may be outstanding value at five quid might be a gouging at a tenner. I'm guessing that as the name is not well known and may be an ��غ�� own brand it should inhabit the value end of the market.

However, ultimately one needs to know if this tool is any good. And, happily I can report that it is. The construction is solid with a decent heft and no way would a normal human being without the aid of extension bars be able to break or damage this. It's as good as any other I've used in my long in tooth career as an engineer on ships and in the offshore construction industry.

Finish is perfectly acceptable and nothing indicates that this set of slip pliers will be anything other than long lived.

The handles have a plastic type grip that helps spread the load in your hands and whilst not exactly as well finished as Bahco grips is good enough.

Bottom line is that these are very good pliers and if they are competitively priced there would be no need to spend more on a name brand. These are just as strong and easy to use.

My partner was very pleased with these . They are made from carbon steel and are very strong and durable. There really easy to use and not too heavy and have a anti slip handle. These produce a great grip on a good variety of nuts bolts of all shapes and sizing. Well worth the money

I really like adjustable tools that can be used for multiple purposes. This is no exception. The handles do feel a little loose against each other but this is because of the mechanism that resizes the jaws for the task you have to hand. They feel comfortable, the handles are long enough to allow you to get some torque to bear on the job in hand but were not designed for anything that needs fine work. The jaw pattern means that they are versatile and will become a regular part of my go-to tool kit.
