This garden arch is really large. Having put it together on my own by constructing each side first and joining them with the arch section, I would say that it would be easier to start at one end, do the arch, then the 2nd side, adding the cross pieces as you go.
As pictured, one of the pieces (an arch piece) had been double-punched in manufacture and, though it does still hold together, there's some play in that joint, no matter how tight the bolt is screwed in. I am concerned that this weakness will be vulnerable in strong winds and put strain on the joint.
I was also one bolt short. Thankfully, most flatpack furniture provides extra screws & bolts and I managed to find a (shorter) match. Had this pack come with one or two extra bolts as standard, it wouldn't have mattered that my pack was one short.
I have had a similar arch (but smaller) in the past, and the cross bars rusted and it finally fell apart in bad weather, so I'm prepared for the possibility that this may not last too many years.
The arch is now built and upright and been in situ for a few weeks. I hope it will fare better than the last one, and perhaps will be more resilient to bad weather if climbing plants have time to cover and support it, but some of the joints are showing some signs of rust already, as the cross pieces aren't curved to the shape of the uprights, so rain can penetrate at these points.
It's not very expensive at £19.99.

Holy crap this arch is massive. I hadn't realised until I actually stood it up in the garden, it's a whole metre taller than me! Excellent value for £20, and you can make it shorted by not adding all the rungs. Not the most amazing quality in the world - it's a little flimsy - but no major complaints. Recommended.
