You can add 3 AAA batteries (which it does not come with) or you can power it (not charge) via the usb cable. It doesn't even use standard USB connections. USB Type-A for the PC but a power pin for the magnifier end.

Nachdem ich die erste Lupenlampe zurückschicken musste, weil schlicht die Beleuchtung nicht funktioniert hat, bewerte ich den zweiten gelieferten Artikel. (Die Rücksendung war übrigens völlig problemlos, es gab umgehend eine Ersatzlieferung.)
Die Lupenlampe ist hell, die Vergrößerung gut und nicht verzerrt. Da sie auch über den USB-Anschluss funktioniert (ich verwende sie am Schreibtisch , werden die Batterien nur bei Bedarf gebraucht.
Allerdings ist der Öffnungswinkel auch mit den verschiedenen Verstellmöglichkeiten nicht optimal. Im Sitzen muss ich die Lupe immer in die Hand nehmen, um durchsehen zu können. Das Anschlusskabel ist sehr kurz (ca 50 cm) und die aufgeklappte Lampe könnte stabiler stehen.
Da aber das Preis-Leistungs.Verhältnis unter dem Strich klasse ist: 4,5 Sterne ;) Ich würde sie wieder kaufen und weiterempfehlen.
