The front of our 1930s home is much cooler than the back, which is basically a modern extension.
During the day we use the back as it is a large open-plan area including the kitchen. In the evenings we tend to aim for the ‘snug’ at the front, but initially at least, snug it is not.
That’s when we whip this fire out and click one, or both heat buttons depending on the temperature. The effect is very fast, and often the 500w button for a few minutes is sufficient, but on coldest evenings, the second, 1500w button brings it up to 2000. Having the two buttons gives a handy treble option of 500, 1500 or a comprehensive 2000.
The fire is white and modern, but isn’t what we would choose to have in the middle of the room when “Homes and Gardens” come to take a picture or two. 😉 however, it is very light and manoeuvrable and can easily be files away out of obvious sight. Likewise it can be carried elsewhere as the need arises.
All-in-all an effective fire, easily mobilised and fast to function. It is not expensive so I would definitely recommend it.
