    Great Value But Could Do Better
    Overall, the unit is in pretty good shape, with a good amount of DDR4 RAM (16GB) and a decent-sized XUM/Hitachi SSD (500GB), and it came with an i3-7300T, a great value little package.Win10 Pro needed a few updates, but not too many, and a fair few in the store... as I say, it is not too bad; it took a couple of hours to get it bang up to date.As I always do when purchasing these devices, I took the side off to check the internals. I removed the fan housing to discover far more dust and crap than there should be; it looks like it has not been cleaned for who knows how long; this really should have been done, and no doubt the answer will be, yeah, sorry this slipped through the net, blah blah blah...Also, there was far too much thermal compound on the CPU...again if this has been refurbed, this should have been re-pasted to ensure a reasonably new compound, and if it has been re-pasted, someone needs to re-learn how much should be on the processor. And here is a tip: it is not the amount you put on it.The temps were in the high 50s, and the excessive compound was acting more like an insulator, as it would, than a thermal medium to transfer the heat to the heatsink, so I cleaned the fan and heatsink and got rid of the dust and crap and cleaned the thermal crap off the CPU/Heatsink too and re-pasted it with some MX-6, now the temps have dropped by 10 degrees on avg, into the low 40s high 30s, peaking in the low 50s, just as it should be, not running at 58c whilst doing almost nothing.As I said, overall, it is not a bad little bit of kit; I bought it to replace one of the same (slightly older models: 3020 USFF/Mini), that recently gave up on us. This is a decent replacement and hopefully will no doubt be fine once I hook it onto the domain and have tidied it up a bit.I should not have to clean this stuff, and this let the side down; otherwise, it would have been a five-star review, but I have learned over the years that most re-sellers don't bother cos they figure most folks will never look; my advice is, ALWAYS look, take the side off, see if the thing is full of dust and crap and that will tell how much care they have taken over said refurb.I don't know if the supplied power block is duff, but it does not give enough juice to power the CPU at full speed; it runs at 0.79MHz and, even worse, sometimes won't boot up. I have the old original from my previous one.
