I wanted to use my soundbar with my PC but it needs an optical in and my PC only has 3.5mm headphone style socket out.

Having bought this, I was able to plug a 3.5mm cable from the computer into the AUX input and then take the optical out to the soundbar.

I was worried that it wouldn't work, that the sound quality would be really ropey etc. but not a bit of it. It works really well and the sound quality it great, just as if I had a 'proper' connection rather than analogue to digital audio conversion going on in a little box in between.

It feels pretty robust (metal not plastic) so I would recommend without hesitation.

Bought this converter to do the Job, and used the headphone output to connect the converter, and used a longer opticial lead, as the one supplied was too short. I now have everything working, and can use the volume control on the TV to control the Volume on the Soundbar. (Not Possible using the Scart Output). A Great Product, and solved my problem with ease, and the sound is superb via the converter.

I have a Sky Soundbox in my office which I use as a Bluetooth speaker for my mobile phone. I’ve tried connecting the laptop via Bluetooth but the audio delay makes it not fit for purpose. Using this converter I was able to connect the laptop to the optical input of the Sky Soundbox. Only point to note is that the converter doesn’t come with a 3.5mm cable so you’d need to get the input cable separately but the optical cable is provided. Haven’t observed any dropouts in sound or interference so all good!

Ce convertisseur analogique-numérique est une super solution si, comme moi, vous avez des appareils un peu anciens que vous voulez connecter à des équipements plus récents. Il fait le job sans souci : il convertit le son analogique en numérique proprement, avec une qualité audio qui reste nickel. Idéal pour brancher une platine vinyle ou un lecteur CD à une enceinte ou un ampli moderne.

L'installation est simple, pas besoin d’être un pro en câblage. Les entrées et sorties sont bien identifiées, et une fois branché, ça fonctionne sans prise de tête. L’appareil est compact et discret, donc il ne prend pas de place dans votre installation.

Le seul point un peu négatif, c'est qu'il n'y a pas de câble fourni avec, donc pensez à vérifier ce qu’il vous faut avant de l’utiliser. Sinon, pour le prix, c’est un petit accessoire bien utile pour moderniser vos vieux appareils et profiter d’un bon son !

Quando si comprano articoli cosí economici, non ci si puó aspettare di certo miracoli ed in molti casi la qualitá é proprio scadente (come il convertitore DA in alto a destra nella FOTO, sopra al AD in questione, suona malisssimo, mancano frequenze, un dispetto per le mie orecchie esperte e costa uguale).

PRO: In questo caso peró, suona veramente bene, a orecchio non sento differenze sostanziali se confrontato con strumenti che costano molto di piú e senza palese colorazione del suono.
Bene la doppia connessione in entrata RCA e AUX stereo, ho collegato due sorgenti cosí.
Bene anche l' uscita convertita in parallelo sia ottica che s/pdif.
Involucro solido in metallo.
Ottimo prezzo.

CONTRO: alimentazione con formato micro USB. Siamo nel 2024 e non capisco come sia possible che questo formato venga ancora utilizzato, visto che ormai si sa, é troppo fragile, diventa instabile con l'uso e non dura nel tempo.
L'involucro non é un cubo perfettamente piatto, la parte superiore é tondeggiante e offre una base di appoggio limitata per eventuali altri accessori, come Nella FOTO. Quando il design non va di pari passo con la praticitá, che é piú importante.

Collegato ad un convertitore s/pdif to USB C diventa una sound card portatile mini bomba come registratore (non per ascoltare!), sia sul telefono che sul PC.

Consiglio vivamente la casa produttrice di offrire una versione PRO che includa l' uscita per il trasferimento del segnale audio tramite USB C, per il collegamento a PC/Smart Phone/Tablet.
Carina sarebbe una versione che includa anche il DA, sia digitale+usb, che analogico.
