I've attached this to my JBL Onstage 2 Sound Dock and also linked it to my Bose Wave Radio; I've streamed Tidal through it, using my iPhone X and found the sound to be at a good volume with no hiss or background interference.

The quality, whilst I wasn't expecting exotic HiFi, appears more than adequate, with good mids, a slightly bright treble and reasonable bass and the JBL and Bose sound pretty much as they should.

I actually needed to 'play in' the old speakers a little as they had been idle for some time but they are staring to sound better and better.

I haven't tested it with one of my Apt-X sources yet but as said above, the sound appears to be more than adequate using standard Bluetooth.

The unit comes with a handy 3.5mm cable if needed and has a battery fallback if you're working with headphones or similar.

As pointed out in the instructions, there is a selector switch on the top of the unit which selects between battery and power from the dock, which needs to be over to the right (when looking from the front) to allow the unit to work properly.

I think this is very adequate for the price and is definitely an improvement over a previous lower spec unit from another manufacturer, in terms of sound and function.

I only occasionally write reviews and usually after I have owned the product for a while. I am making an exception here. Just received this adapter today. If you own an old Bose Soundeck and are looking for a way to use it in today's bluetooth world, this is it. Plopped the device into the cradle and went to Settings-Bluetooth menu. By the time that I got there, my iPhone 16 already recognized the device. Started up the Music app on the iPhone. Instant music. Will the adapter last for a year? I don't know. I will write a follow-up review when I do.
