The Blu-ray was in a very good condition

If you grew up watching the 3rd Doctor stories air on original transmission or like me caught them on tv repeats before getting the dvds and became a massive fan then this collection is for you.

It is great to see all the stories in a higher quality on blu ray and sorry but I do like the The Time Monster sorry to the haters that just don't get a fun story that for me sees Sgt Benton being turned into a baby.

There are movie length editions of The Sea Devils and Day of the Daleks, Stuart Fell on his time as a stunt man on Doctor Who.

For me my favourites as always from these box sets are the Behind the Sofa segments and this time we have Katy Manning with Director Michael E Briant, Wendy Padbury with Sophie Aldred and the cream of the crop the 5th Doctor Peter Davison with his companions Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding.

If you want to complete your collection of the blu ray sets than this is a must have for any collector to sit and enjoy some 3rd Doctor adventures with his favourite companion Jo Grant who will do anything to protect her doctor.

Looking to forward to the next release of my Doctor Peter Davison and hoping it comes before the 60th anniversary date of 23rd November.

Whilst I saw a fair sprinkling of Dr Who played by Patrick Troughton (who remains my No1 Doctor) the Jon Pertwee era was an enjoyable romp. Like all the seasons this one has excellent and not-so-excellent stories. The sea devils stood out at the time with the help of outside filming and RN ships, hovercraft and sailors/Marines charging about, and the devils look far superior to later clean versions; Day of the Daleks was a great sci-fi/ ghost story (but do watch the new effects rather than the tame finale of the original). Curse of Peladon was and remains a wonderful stage play-like experience. Mutants was a great story if you make allowances for the CSO background bits and the mutants still look good. The Time Monster is again ok. So 4 great and one okay stories. UNIT, the Master, Jo and the Doctor are all in peak condition.

Great set as always with the Collection series, superb extras.

The stories for Season 9 range from excellent (the Sea Devils) to the hum-drum (the Mutants) though they always entertain (well they entertain me at least!)

It’s the extras that makes these sets and this is probably the best of the whole series so far.

    Highly receommnded

MADE FROM THE SUMMER OF 1971 TO SPRING 1972, JON PERTWEE'S MIDDLE SEASON WAS ACCEPTABLE BUT AT TIMES A LITTLE TWEE.
PERTWEE HIMSELF IS RELAXED AS THE DOCTOR, AND SO IS KATY MANNING AS JO GRANT. THERE IS A WARM RAPPORT BETWIXT THE TWO ACTORS AND A SENSE OF GENUINE LOVE WITH THE TWO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, ALBEIT INNOCENT.
BRIGADIER ALASTAIR LETHBRIDGE-STEWART, CAPTAIN MIKE YATES AND SERGEANT JOHN BENTON ARE GOOD AS EVER, AND PATRICK TROUGHTON'S SON IS FINE AS KING 👑 PELADON OF PELADON.
AUBREY WOODS IS CONVINCING AS THE CONTROLLER, AND ROGER DELGADO EXCELS AS THE TIME LORD THE MASTER.
SEASON 9 CLEARLY MORALISES AND THE TIME MONSTER APPEARS TO CONTRADICT THE 1967 STORY 'THE UNDERWATER MENACE'.
BABY BENTON STEALS THE FINAL SCENE...

This is a Fantastic Boxset. Great stories with the superb and Iconic Third Doctor played by Jon Pertwee and his companion Jo Grant played by Katy Manning. It loses a Star because of the high price. Twenty% up on the previous Boxsets. Season 2 was also £50 but that set had 9 stories not 5! Inflation is only 10% so this seems to ripping off Dr Who fans. Again!

It goes without saying, these Collection series are superb, Season 9 no exception, Jon Pertwee, Katy Manning, Nicholas Courtney and more all in fine form.

Hours of extras, plus the extended editions and special effects. And here's hoping Season 20 will finally arrive next.

I've been lucky to receive all the collections in undamaged condition so far, including Season 9, despite leaving instructions to leave with a neighbour, as I was some 215 miles away, knowing full well it wouldn't go through the letter box, much to my surprise I get a message on my phone telling me it's been handed to me! No ÍøÆغÚÁÏ, your delivery driver threw it over the gate, where it lay for 2 days, thanks.

Despite this I'm giving 5 stars for the product.
