    Being of a decent age, I grew up, musically-speaking, with Post Punk, so my preferences haven't changed much since i was into The Cure, Joy Division, Gang of Four, etc etc.
    I got deeply into sort of lo-fi in the mid 90s, and stuck firmly with my Pavement, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and Grandaddy loves, with occasional relistens to my old stuff.
    Now, with Fontaines DC I have it all in one magnificent little CD.
    Shades of The Cure (Pornography-era) and Joy Division bass, chiming guitars (Pavement Wowie Zowie-era), crisp drumming (ummm), plaintive, unaffected singing and excellent lyrics with a bite to them, whether about global warming or local Dublin characters.
    I cannot remember the last album that I needed to listen to so often, and missed it badly if I hadn't heard it for a few days.
    The only regret I have is getting into them too late to secure tickets without paying some scalping scvmbag triple price on Stubhub.
    Serves me right.
    Buy this and immerse yourself in the earworms. You won't regret it.

    Dogrel is the best debut album since Arctic Monkeys The Strokes and The Stone Roses. I have listened to the album at least 100 times since buying it and it gets better with every listen. The album opens with a statement of intent by predicting that they are going to be “Big” and if there’s any justice in the world they will “make a lot of money “ in the near future.
    It’s hard to pick out a favourite track as they are all so strong but Liberty Belle and Roy’s Tune are 2 of my favorites. I love Grian’s vocals and the drummer is amazing.
    Definitely feel it will figure in all Best of 2019 lists. Buy it! You won’t be disappointed!!

    Great debut album. They say they’re are influenced by The Libertines and The Strokes. I hear Joy Division, The Fall, The Smiths and The Pogues. Some great riffs and lyrics - ‘an idiot is someone who lets education do their thinking.’ Many more like this on the album.

    and true grit. To come up with new music is hard to do in this day and age and Fontains dc have done it. A cross between punk , heavy rock Irish folk it has the lot.
    No skipping through this album, every track a gem. Will end up being a classic in yeas to come.
