The Draper 88192 550 mm precision mitre saw is a workshop saw for the accurate cutting of various angles or mitres on items such as picture frames and architraves. The saw has a plastic handle, as well as a cutting-depth regulator and scale on the base, and comes with a 14 tpi wood-cutting blade, a solid one-piece die-cast aluminium saw table, four solid chrome-plated guide rods with adjustable length stop, a material vice clamp and an extra material vice clamp for use with short workpieces.

I wish I had read the previous reviews before buying this product. The assembly instructions were poor - merely a badly drawn diagram. The build quality was adequate - nothing more - but the saw didn't work properly. The saw assembly had to forced down the guide rails and so cutting involved having to literally force the blade assembly down onto the work and maintaining this downward whilst cutting. This is unlike any other mitre saw I have used where the saw blade assembly slid smoothly down onto the work using gravity. A good piece of DIY equipment should be well engineered and a joy to use. This saw doesn't come close. I won't buy Draper again when there is much better kit out there.

I had a saw like this before and it did a good job. I decided to get a new one and it does not cut a vertical line true. I checked the blade and it is true vertically but every time I cut to a square line it wanders off. Nothing I have tried makes it better. I would have sent it back but shipping is rater expensive.

This mitre saw does not cut to a 90 degree angle to the table in any position.
Every vertical cut is off by a number of degrees regardless of the angle set.
One would imagine that Draper would provide instructions on how to overcome this issue and how to set up the saw with precision.
Very disappointed with this item.

I bought this same Draper saw more than 30 years ago while living in England. (Awesome miter saw!) however, it finally met it's demise when a part broke that Draper no longer makes. The saws are nearly identical with the exception of the model number and some platic parts that were metal on the previous one. I'm confident that it will make the same precision cuts the first one did and if it lasts half as long, it's worth the price. Lightning Fast Delivery!
