I got told to buy one to insert screws deep in my lathe. I have read other reviews and tested it on different screw drivers and driver bits. And I have found the best screwdrivers to magnetize are electricians screw drivers. The ones with plastic coating down towards the end. Some screw driver bits do magnetize and some do not . I have a feeling it's what they are made out of. I also magnetized a steel rod and picked a screw up with it. The magnetizer works perfectly and I think it's human error on what you try and magnetize . As all know not all metals and there compersisions can be magnetized . I think the closer to pure steel the better .
