I write this review based on my decades of experiences as a consumer property owner, outdoor activities including camping and fishing.

My granddaughter wanted to go dunking for crabs of the pier side and rather than pay a tenner for a tourist setup bought this and made up sufficient for madams use leaving us with the means to make dozens more If normality ever returns.

A simple thin twist of nylon strands, this is very, very strong.

Simple to tie but you do need something sharp to cut it and either knot its end or burn it to stop it unraveling.

It can become a terrible tangle off the spool.

Useful for an unending number of household and outdoor everyday tasks.

Excellent for the price. I've stuck it in an emergency bag as it feels very strong and would be ideal for a wide array of applications.

I've only removed one star because the packaging was infuriating. It came with a large plastic shelf hanger thing inserted down the middle which it took me literally 5 minutes to remove because it had barbs that hooked into the cardboard tube. The plastic broke whilst trying to pull it out and I had to use pliers to extract the rest, tearing up the tube somewhat in the process. It's a minor downside and definitely not a reason not to buy this but since this feature wasn't pictured I thought I would mention it as I deliberately avoided other threads that came on a fixed spool. This hanger seemed so well affixed that I don't think it was intended to be removed but nor would it have been suitable to use to easily spool line out so it was slightly mystifying.

I'm a DIY'er so was always going to get mortar on the line, drop it in water/muck, and get a little crossed when rolling onto a reel.

This line has done me very well though. Easy enough to wipe mortar off as soon as you get some on it.

It has got wet but not noticed any sag over a 9m run. Its not frayed either.

I have it pulled very tight and it holds tension well. There is a very small amount of elasticity when pulling tight... but not much.

The bright colour is a bonus for me as the area I'm working in is bright and sunny all day (when the sun is out).

Overall, this has been a great buy... and i still have 60m of line left!

It's wound on a cardboard tube with a plastic insert, which easily pulls out. I had the whole reel unwound and when I came to wind it up, it just slides off because it's not wide enough. So in summary, the string is good - strong with good flex - but I wouldn't recommend it. A better product is the Forge Steel line which is marginally more expensive from Screwfix.

This saved the day when the motorhome door wouldn't lock due to the lock hinge being really lose (we hadn't realised this was the issue or could have tightened it ourselves), but heyho, we used the string to hold the door and tied it to oven door, it did the trick keeping it secure, till we got it sorted. Very strong string so would'nt break on pulling it!
