The BattPAT is a very easy to use battery powered Portable Appliance Tester with simple PASS/FAIL results with green/red LEDs.

The tester uses built-in rechargeable batteries and is supplied fully calibrated with a mains charger. 500+ tests can be carried out from a single charge.

The BattPAT PAT tester is ideal for those wanting to carry out in-house PAT testing of electrical appliances in offices, hotels, schools, nursing homes, factories and construction sites. The tester is also safe for use on PCs and other IT equipment.

The downloadable user manual and forms mean that even someone new to safety PAT testing can be using the BattPAT PAT tester within half an hour of unpacking.

It is supplied with a manual, calibration certificate, test leads, PASSED labels, equipment test record form, equipment register form and Lifetime Warranty upon tester registration.

This is great for portable appliance testing, as I've recently passed my testing course (although there is a voucher and instructions included in this).
This was the cheapest option I could find, with good reviews, and I made the purchase. It came with all the kit needed, a comprehensive instruction manual, log sheets, and pass/fail stickers! This is the perfect piece of kit to take with you on the go. The built in battery lasts a long time, and with all the cables for additional types of testing, it doesn't take up much space or weigh, so it is very portable!

I've been using this for testing electronic goods for a local charity shop that I volunteer at, and it makes the process quick, easy and very safe.
Everything works as expected, and the guide talks you through testing different types of kit, different classes and what to look out for when testing.

I wanted a PAT tester to check appliances for my tiny business, rather than to pay a person to test things. This seemed pretty straightforward, given my husband is an electrical engineer. However, the seller immediately wants you to pay much more money to calibrate the kit (it was unclear why they couldn't include testing it before shipping it, given that is what would make it fit for purpose) and seems to want to have an extra £80 a year from then onwards. So I wasn't super-impressed, although the machine itself seems good enough to do the job.
