About this item

The MisterChef dehydrator machine has two different tray positions - low and high. The low position is for dehydrating smaller foods and high position is for dehydrating larger foods. The food dryer has hot air circulation and high drying efficiency. It will automatically shut off when timer is done.
EASY TO USE - Simply put fruits, vegetables, meat, etc. on the trays and set the temperature you desire. Warm, gentle heat passes until the food is ready . Moisture is dried away from the food whilst the flavour is locked in.
LARGE CAPACITY - The MisterChef food and vegetable dehydrator has 5 adjustable trays so you can dry multiple foods at the same time in different trays. It's transparent so that you can pay close attention to the drying degree of food inside without opening the lid while it's working.
VERSATILE - Perfect for making healthy and natural snacks like dried fruit and vegetables, fruit roll-ups, beef jerky. mushrooms, dried treats for pets and so on. Can also be used as a herb dryer, jerky dehydrator and mushroom dryer.

Bought this very excited to make my own beef jerky. When it arrived I dehydrated apple slices and banana slices which it did perfectly. Second day I put in my pre marinated beef slices and switched it on. 3 hrs into the process all I could feel was cool air flowing. That shouldn't be I thought? Wasn't working at all. Had to finish my jerky in the oven which was OK.
Contacted the seller and they were very prompt to reply via amazon. And told me that they would send out a new base unit which I'm using atm. Must say my new batch of jerky is the bomb! I hope this unit lasts because I'm enjoying the fruits of my labour.
Fair play to misterchef in being so prompt and sending out a new heating base.

I bought this to replace a similar model that I have had for around 10 years so I could use the same shape trays. They are easy to use the only downside on this one is the numbered settings instead of temperature settings but I assume the numbers equate to fairly closely to temperature settings on my old one so I will just use that knowledge. It’s a minor point but for anyone buying this as their first ever it would be confusing, there is no explanation in the instructions of what temp the numbers relate to either. Otherwise it’s a great buy

The construction is very flimsy. On mine, the heating element stopped working after the second time I used it. Even if everything carried on working, I can't see anybody owning one for very long before something critical cracks or breaks. This is one of those items that should be solid and repairable. This one is definitely a consumable - use it until it conks out then get rid. Shame, because the potential for having your own sun-dried tomatoes and dried mango and anything else you can think of (dried garlic chips - mmm!) on call is great.
