Product description

For splitting green or seasoned wood, the Forest Master FM10TW-7-TC log splitter is ideal. With a 2200 watt motor, the machine easily generates 7 tonnes of force. Due to the pre-installed DuoCut Blade and the pre-installed Ram Stop, the FM10TW-7-TC is twice as efficient and can help you save time. It comes complete with a stand and fully approved castor wheels by the CE and UKCA. Since the stand is 740mm* tall and the log splitter's bed is 860mm* above the ground, you may use them while standing up with little to no leaning down. For storage, the stand may be taken apart and removed. The addition of castor wheels makes it possible to move the log splitter, which weighs between 16 and 18 kg, without raising the front; once it is in position, you just lock the front wheels. Voltage: 220-240V/50Hz. Standard UK 3 pin plug. Power: 2200 Watt.Max Log Length: 450mm*. Max Log Diameter: 400mm*. The splitter is set to 7 tons*. Net Weight: 67kg* (including workbench and safety cage). Weather protected to IP54. Supplied with a 12 month^ warranty. Certificate: CE/UKCA approved

I ordered the 7 ton version of this splitter. Delivery was prompt. The instructions could be better as there was a bag of bits in the box with no details of what to do with them! It took a bit of time and common sense to figure out where these bits were supposed to go. The guard was missing and there was no indication that the model I had was the 7 ton rather than the 5 ton. I queried this with the supplier who responded quickly, the guard was delayed due to Covid issues and the 7 ton can be identified by the extra welding on the back blade.
Once the machine was set up it was easy to use and very effective at splitting all types of log , dry and wet, large and small. I got a winter's worth of log burner material cut up in a few hours.
An excellent investment! Highly recommended.

Unlike previous reviewers, my machine did come with instructions, which were clear and easy to follow. It was easily assembled by one person. There are some very good design features of this machine, so there has obviously been input from people who have actually split logs before. The duo blade works very well, and binding of logs is less than on my single blade splitter. The duo blades are also slightly angled downwards, which means they works very well for logs that don't have square ends (which is most of them, in my experience!), and also it stops legs from racking upwards as the jaws close together. Cycle time is good, and much much quicker than my old manual hydraulic splitter. The length stop is a brilliant idea. The machine can take logs up to 460mm, but most are shorter than that, so using the stop saves you wasting time taking up the slack with shorter logs. The screw lock for this mechanism keeps coming loose, though, so a cam lock might be a better design. I was concerned that the frame looked a bit flimsy, but it's perfectly adequate. It's main weakness is that the locking castors are just underneath the fixed splitting wedge, which is where the newly split logs tend to fall. If you use the work table attachment this probably wouldn't be an issue. I didn't though, so heavy logs kept falling on the castors and bent them pretty badly. Another slight niggle is the short power lead. This is only a problem because your extension cable needs to be near the machine, and heavy logs can break it (and did!) when they fall off. As for capacity, this machine was able to deal with any logs I could put on it. I suspect that any logs that are too thick for it to break would be too heavy for me to lift on to the platform in the first place. I have used it to split up the wood from nine ash trees, and it's still going strong. I don't normally do product reviews (can't be bothered), but I was seriously impressed with this machine, and it is highly recommended.

Arrived earlier than quoted which was pleasing. Minor assembly problem as there was one bolt missing but was soon replaced from my own source. Construction was pretty straightforward, two people carrying out the work certainly helped as considerable weight involved. Once constructed the splitter make short work of both wet and dry wood I tested it with. Early days but assuming it continues to perform I have no hesitation in recommending this brilliant piece of kit.

This is a sturdy well made machine. It definitely takes two people to assemble on to the stand. I am giving this 4 stars as I ordered the higher power unit (7 Ton) but there was no marking on the box indicating this when it arrived. I called the supplier who simply said I had the correct unit but couldn't answer how they knew as there is no marking on either the machine or the box! I then called the manufacturer and they said the only way you can tell is either by the label on the unit or by it being sent back to them for testing. When I pointed out that the label on the machine wasn't marked they simply said that this happens sometimes. So in the end I have left it! It seems to work great, but no idea if I have the more powerful version or not (Hence 4 stars)

As with all log splitters knotted woods can get stuck, but this unit deals with most types and sizes I throw at it, so overall very happy! Just wish I knew for sure what I was buying! By the way. Forrest Master confirmed the seller was a genuine Forest Master seller., so I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Bought this after much research and reading many reviews. Used it today and did in 3 hrs what normally took me a day and a half, and i got to sit down through most of it. This log splitter makes short work of the logs and you get to cut them with reasonable precision.
Just wish i had bought this a few years ago, it would of saved me so many aching backs.
Having the two cutting blades certainly makes a huge difference as well.
Just let down by very poor, ie nil, assembly instructions. Had to keep looking a a pic online to see where bits went.

Aber Qualität hat seinen Preis. Nachdem ein geliehener 3 - Tonnen - Spalter älterer Bauart manche Stämme nicht spalten konnte, habe ich mir dieses Gerät gekauft. Am Anfang habe ich mich geärgert, dass ein kompletter Karton (nicht wissentlich bestellt!) nur aus Sicherheitsblechen bestand. Ich habe gedacht - bezahlt - installiert und habe alles vorschriftsmäßig aufgebaut. Es dauertse nicht lange, dann war ich froh darüber! Ein Holzklotz, den ich als Vorführobjekt für meinen Nachbarn spaltete, hat sich explosionsartig geteilt und die Einzelteile knallten direkt in die Schutzbleche. Das hätte auch zu Verletzungen führen können! Das Sicherheitssystem ist großzügig gestaltet, so dass man sich bei der Bedienung nicht behindert fühlt. Immer Schutzhandschuhe anziehen und ruhig bestellen, falls noch nicht getan. :)

Lo pero son las instrucciones que están mal detalladas, así como las instrucciones de montaje de las patas.
Al ser muy pesada la máquina, recomiendo instalar las patas con la máquina en el suelo y ajustándoles los elementos poco a poco, para después levantarla completa.
