Recently moved into a house with a garden, after living in a flat for a long while. One thing I was not looking forward to was trips to the recycling centre to get rid of things like cut back branches and other garden waste.

So I ordered this bin.

It arrived promptly.

Some reviewers have complained of dents on arrival and mine, indeed had a dent. Unperturbed, I gave it a little smack with my palm and *pop*, out it came. You could hardly tell there was even a dent there! And let’s face it, a dent is going to be the least of your aesthetic worries after several uses. So I attached the three legs (very easy but needed a screwdriver and pliers) and I was good to go.

I like this bin for 2 reasons.

1. I am now able to get rid of combustible waste with ease. It makes short work of the branches and logs that have resulted from trimming and clearing back shrubbery.
Some have worried about the stability but as long it is on a flat, hard surface, it’s fine.
The holes in the sides and bottom allow for sufficient air flow to keep smoke levels low. I think one or two more holes on the bottom might be good, but that’s not a deal breaker. And there is nothing stopping me drilling a couple more in. I don’t use the lid much because it sometimes increases smoke. Plus it gets hot. Not good if you want to add more waste.

So here I am, the proud owner of a burny bin, with all the benefits of (appropriate) rubbish disposal at my… disposal.

What’s that? What about the second reason I like it?

Oh

2. Now ‘pyromaniac’ is a strong word. It might be a little over the top to describe myself as that. However, there is some pleasure to be derived from watching logs and branches and dry leaves burn away to oblivion. And reducing identifying documentation to ash also makes for a more peaceful night’s sleep. Oh, and the sacrificial burning-of-revision-notes from my daughter’s recent exams was a fun event. We believe we appeased the gods of knowledge (don’t worry, it was a small sacrifice, the vast majority went for recycling).

Longevity? Well the bin looks well used - as you might expect. I will guess I’ll get a couple of year’s use out of it at least and I’m sure keeping it dry in the shed over winter will increase lifespan.

And when the day comes that it is no longer useable, I will buy the same again.

Five stars from me.

This product unlike other bins i have baught has stood up exceptionally well to so much use in the last week .
I have replaced all my skirting boards and archatrive in my house in the last week .
I have had this bin glowing hot for hours each night and there is now damage apart from some discolouration.
To beat the trouble stabilising it i have not used the legs supplied but stood it on bricks.
Well worth the money and no complaints from me

The bin does the job and was easy to assemble. It is very thin and insubstantial and I suggest you need to keep it loaded with items for burning to stop it blowing away. It goes rusty after 1st use which isn't an issue. Mine has lasted just over 1 Year and has been used around 4 times I'd say and the bottom fell out due to rusting away. I had a different brand and same happened. I'd suggest buying a heavier guage.

It's a standard garden incinerator and it raised off the ground by four feet.
Negatives - it came in a large cardboard box with NO! Padding, so it was slightly out of shape. In order for the lid to properly fit, I had to gently put it back to it's correct shape. Also, the nuts and bolts were loose in the box. There was 3 nuts & 1 bolt missing, which luckily I had at home.
