Product description

Bottarga directly imported from Sardinia to Olivo Restaurants & Shops, a group of four Sardinian restaurants, deli and gelateria based in the exclusive Belgravia area of London. Some 30 years ago we were one of the first businesses to import into the UK this famous Sardinian salted, pressed & dried grey mullet row delicacy, which is sometimes called “ the poor man’s caviar”. It has always been highly popular with our customers and its fame has spread as a result of a lot of press coverage. The bottarga is vacuum packed to ensure that it is semi-fresh when opened, use grated on pasta or simply slice thinly and dress with a touch of extra virgin olive oil & lemon. Be warned, it can become a bit of an addiction! If requiring to grate the bottarga we recommend that once out of the pack it should be left to set and harden which will make grating it much easier.
