Greenforce Fertilizer Weed Moss

When to Use - Apply GREENFORCE LAWN FEED WEED & MOSS KILLER, during the growing season from early Spring (April). Re-treatment may be necessary for heavy moss infestation or if moss returns. Ideally do not apply for 4 days before mowing and 3 days after. Apply product on a still day, when lawns are growing actively and the soil is moist. Do not use during drought or freezing conditions.

Application rate: Apply 20g per m2 evenly over the surface. For accuracy and evenness of coverage, mark out the area to be treated using string or canes. After Application - Your lawn should thicken and become a rich green colour. Total weed control may take around 4 -5 weeks. Some weeds may grow vigorously at first and become distorted and twisted. The moss in the lawn will blacken as it dies (any blackening of the grass is only temporary). After 7-14 days rake out the dead moss

We were very impressed with this grass seed. We had a patch in our lawn that needed reseeding and were pretty amazed that the seed came up very quickly. It was lush and green in no time. It was the end of the summer so it was still quite warm so that probably helped. We ordered another pack to thicken up our front lawn and that has come up too so it's pretty good seed. I would have ordered a much larger bag if it had been available but they only seem to sell this size. We will definitely by buying this again if we need any more seed.

This product definitely works, however there are a fes key things that are worth knowing:
1- it takes a while to work. I spread the stuff on my weed-riddled lawn on 21 June (almost 4 weeks ago). Whilst some of the weeds turned black immediately, others seemed unaffected. The grass was patchy and a bit dry looking. As of today, the grass is lush and green and thick, and almost 60% of the weeds have died off. It says it will take up to 5 weeks for full effect so I'm looking forward to seeing the final results in about 10 days.

2- it doesn't really matter what weather you have when you apply the stuff, though low wind is good so it doesn't blow everywhere (it smells quite chemically and the box is covered in warnings so I can't imagine it's good for lungs, skin or clothes). However you need to water it in afterwards. As it was hot and sunny when I applied it, this took multiple days of watering, almost a week, before I could no longer see pellets. This does mean the weeds will grow more initially (as they're getting sun & water), but trust me it works.

3- I'd strongly recommend keeping pets and anything else off the grass until you can no longer see bits. As mentioned, this is nasty stuff. I kept my cats indoors for a week. They've been fine since I let them out with no adverse reaction to the stuff. I wouldn't have let them out after 2 days as it says, because there was still loads of pellets and a strong smell. They may have got sick.

4- You need more than it says. My lawn is only a few metres square yet I had to use this entire box. I think I'll need to reapply for it to work fully. This is probably partly because I had so many weeds, but I also think the stuff needs to be spread more densely to work. 20g for a metre square is nothing!!!

Overall, it's ok value for money as it's not too expensive, and certainly better than weeding or reseeding your lawn (which thankfully isn't needed on mine now!).
