About this item

High-speed USB 2.0 audio video grabber: the video recording adapter can connect PC and video devices via VHS, VCR, DVD and improve image quality with parameters such as brightness/contrast/colour/sharpness and saturation. Excellent digital format and video editing.
Supports all video formats: such as VCD DVD SVCD WMV and other video formats. To transfer the recorded film to a hard drive or DVD, you can use a VCR, video camera, old style camera, stereo, or other audio and video equipment with composite (CVBS) to connect to a PC or laptop. Choose PAL to record videos at the 25FPS frame rate, and NTSC to record videos at the 30FPS frame rate.
USB 2.0 interface video input: S-video interface (Mini-DIN 4) / composite CVBS interface. Audio input: Left channel interface (Audio-L) / Right channel interface (Audio R) Easy connection via RCA or audio/video. Used between PC and video devices. Easy to use and easy to use
PAL / NTSC video type: the colour model of PAL is YUV, 625 scanning lines / FPS, 25 FPS / sec. (40 ms / FPS), the highest resolution used is 720 x 576 @ 25 FPS. The colour model of NTSC is YIQ, 525 scanning lines/FPS, 30 FPS/second (29.97 FPS, 33.37 ms/FPS), the highest resolution used is 760 x 480 at 29.97 fps (Note: When playing the NTSC format on a TV in PAL format, the picture becomes black and white ).

I have had an older device like this which was very temperamental and a lot of issues with audio. I don't have a cd drive. When I got this device I couldn't find the software or drivers online.

In the end I just plugged it in on my windows 11 laptop (without installing drivers) and it worked perfectly, both video and audio. Used OBS studio to record. I've not tried it on win10 yet.

Resolution wasn't great, but that was expected with converting from old hi8 camcorder.

Very good value for the price.

The product works ad detailed but the software comes in a mini cd so cd drives are required. My new laptops do not have cd drive. I watched youtube videos about conerting from Hi8 and downloaded two other softwares for recording on laptop, one is VLC PLAYER and cant remember the other software althoug i found that is more easy. Tried couple of short videos and all fine. They should make the software available for online downloading. No other issues with the product, only just bought it.

Hard to believe something so cheap could give such good results! Admittedly i only used it to record audio from an old cassette tape, but it was simple to install on a Windows 10 laptop and worked first time! My only complaint is the software it came with doesn't seem to allow you to only record audio, it seems to record both audio and video even if there is no video feed, making the file size larger than needed, so loses 1 star as a result. To get around this I used the native voice recorder app within Windows 10.
