Here Come The Warm Jets by Brian Eno
The first album by Brian Eno after his departure from Roxy Music and a brilliant effort it is too. Outstanding tracks include:- Baby's On Fire, Dead Finks Don't Talk and Here Come The Warm Jets and the line up of guest musicians are just stellar:- Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay and Paul Thompson (all from Roxy Music), Simon King, Bill MacCormick, Chris Spedding, Robert Fripp and John Wetton. Definitely a great first solo album to own from an iconic innovator of ambient tunes.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 February 2024CD arrived on time and in excellent condition. I will definitely buy fron West End Records in the future.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 April 2017Here Come The Warm Jets - The album that I have listened many times since the beginning of 2016. This album is very eclectic. It contains different kinds of styles of the 70's - the beginning of punk rock, glam rock in spirit of David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust", experiments with synthesizer, progressive elements. This spicy storm, regardless quaintness and bizarreness, it attracts and makes it to listen over and over again. My friend told me, listening to the song "The paw paw negro blowtorch" that it looks like a try to create something new and innovating but with no success at all. I totally agree with him with the caveat that the album which contains no top singles or commercial hits, nevertheless each song of this album is represented with its new approach, new look of how new music is created or should be created. I want to point out the featuring of Robert Fripp and his explosive, stunning guitar solo on "Baby's on fire". The greatest album of all time.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 May 2020This is a great album and suggests what Roxy Music might have done if the other Bryan had left. Even though I like the subsequent Roxy albums.
This album is like an artists' sketch pad - full of ideas, some work like magic and others not so much.
The ideas are worth listening to and as you might expect, the musicianship here is fabulous - Robert Fripp, Chris Spedding, Phil Manzanera and the great Paul Thompson - heaven!
And the album cover is a classic.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 December 2015The most incredible original 10 slices of pop innovation I'm still waiting to be bettered after it's release in 1973.What's so amazing is that every one of it's tracks are different.I can see from other comments that different, generation of people are being delighted by it's beautiful collection of surf glam ,psychedelic blues ,spaced out buzz guitar parcels of joy. . I just bought it ,again ,because up until recently his albums have always been to expensive. In this new era of vinyl's reemergence ,old CD buffers can at last pay a decent price for our seemingly outmoded devices.Too late to stop.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 April 2016Truly - a superb album from beginning to end, that I've rediscovered after having the LP when it first came out. Robert Fripp's long solo on"Baby's On Fire" will remain forever one of rock music's greatest moments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of most recent Astralwerks Single Disc Vinyl Reissue - Outstanding
I add this review for those looking for the newest vinyl (as of the date of this review, December 2019). The album, like all the 'Eno vocal albums' from 'Warm Jets to After Science' are landmark. I don't need to comment on that part. These reissues are an improvement worth investing in for my system. I didn't want the 45 rpm versions to flip more often so these are the best of both worlds - great sound, 1 vinyl album. If you are hesitating, don't worry. These reissues are a sonic improvement but still are one lp with 2 sides which works for me. :)
