I had previously 3D printed a memory card storage case but it melted in the heat. There is no way that is going to happen with this case. The outer case is made of aluminium giving added protection.
Initially it looks bulky but when you realise what's inside you appreciate the effort JJC has taken to design this with room for 8 SD and 16 Micro SD cards, a cable and selection of plug adapters and not forgetting a sim card extractor.
Being bulky does have a major advantage though, it's not easy to misplace.
I particularly like the securing mechanism of a recessed knob that you have to turn just over 2 turns to open/close and to does tighten hard. There is no way that this is going to open accidentally.
It has a hole at the top for fitting a lanyard but none were supplied.
You can get storage cases on their own at a fraction of the cost, but then you would need another case for the cables.
Overall a nicely designed storage case with integrated accessories, but for the price I would have liked it being waterproof.

This is a card reader that doubles as a storage case for your SD cards when on your travels (at least this is what I assume)

The construction is odd. It seems very poorly thought out and could and should be far better than it is.

The case itself is 'ok'. I've got stronger ones that feel more solid but this isn't the issue with this product. The annoyances come from how it's used, and it's size.

It could be a fraction of it's current size (therefore easier to travel with) by just making it all a bit more compact and smaller. There's a lot of unneccesary size here.

The cable that comes with the card reader is ok but fits into the case really awkwardly and the whole thing there feels a little fragile.

The most annoying aspect of this product though is the twisty thing you have to turn to unlock and open the case. It takes far too many turns, it takes far too long, and it's completely unneccessary. It's just a very annoying thing to use and has totally put me off using this case.

Some poor engineering and the next iteration of this product definitely needs to be smaller, less fragile on the inside, and needs to scrap the twisty turny thing that allows you to use it

There are (much) better products out there which is a real shame because I would have loved this one to be great.

The 3-in-1 JJC SD Memory Card Reader Storage Case is something you might see James Bond whipping out of his pocket to transfer a top secret file. It's got a card reader, a storage case for the memory cards, and a bunch of different adapters to help you connect your devices.

The card reader part is really fast. It can read and write data from SD and microSD cards at speeds up to 300MB/s, which is very quick - too fast for the baddies to catch Mr Bond! That means I was able to transfer photos and videos from my camera and iPhone, to my computer in no time at all. The storage case is great too. It's got slots for up to 8 SD cards and 16 microSD cards, so I can keep all of my memory cards organised and safe in one place. So, I can store all of my stuff on memory cards while storing the cards in the case, how good is that! When I want to transfer files, I simply remove a card, place it into the card reader on the storage case and plug it into my device - very simple, very easy to do, and super convenient.

Although the storage case doesn't have a locking mechanism, it is designed with a simple knob that’ll open and close the case. This design helps prevent accidental falls from causing the case to open and the cards and adapters from spilling out - handy if the bad guys are chasing you :)

The storage case comes with a bunch of different adapters, like USB-C to Lightning, USB-C to Micro USB, and USB-C to USB-A. So, no matter what kind of device I might have, I can connect it. The JJC SD Memory Card Reader Storage Case has to be one of the most handy card storage cases I’ve ever come across, and what’s more I don’t need to carry any cables with me - it’s all on-board, ready to use. It's a great way to stay connected and productive, no matter where you find yourself.

A nice design and well though out to cram in all the functions this provides, however it is a little chunky for my liking and wish it could have been a little slimmer.

That aside, the design is well thought out. It can hold up to 16 Micro SD cards and 8 SD cards at once.

A built in memory card reader along with a hidden USB C to USB C cable. In the base is a pull out tray containing 4 different USB C adaptors which will cover any connector type you may need. It also has a sim tray release pin as well.

Despite the robustness of this case being an all metal design, its not waterproof and is noticeably heavy!

Overall a great product, just wish it could of been a little smaller and not as heavy.

Card reader is a Genesys Logic.

The foam is somehow much worse than in other JJC cases. The cut out is just rectangular and very tight on the micro SD cards, to a point it feels like you're damaging it. Other JJC cases have specific cutouts for the exact shape and feel much better with a slightly looser fit. The adapters are a miss. The female A to C adapter is not useful in this set. The lightning adapter didn't work at all. I'd have loved if they had included an alternative carrier for more SD cards instead to make up for the bulk.

As it stands now, the older and much cheaper JJC cases are much better, and they make one with a much easier to use reader too.

Die Idee ist schon klasse, eine Box, die quasi die eierlegende Wollmilchsau für die überall rumfliegenden SD-Karten (und microSD) ist. Und deren Sicherheit ist gewährt, da diese Box sehr stabil gebaut ist. Diese Stabilität hat natürlich ihren Preis - die Box ist schon grenzwertig nah an Trümmer-Abmessungen.
Mithilfe dieser kleinen Box kann man nicht nur die Karten handlich an einem Ort verwahren sondern hat direkt das passende Lesegerät mit dabei. Die Datenübertragungsrate ist gut und mein innerer Monk ist happy, dass alle Karten schön geordnet sind.
Neben der Größe der Box ist das Innenleben im Detail auch ein Schwachpunkt. Das Schaumgummi Zeug, worin die Karten aufbewahrt und fixiert werden, scheint nicht auf lange Haltbarkeit ausgelegt zu sein. Und das ist in meinen Augen ein ganz großes no-no. Dann fliegen die Karten wieder rum und mein innerer Monk ist echt enttäuscht.
Den 2. Stern ziehe ich wegen des Preis ab, der mir doch etwas übertrieben sportlich erscheint.

Erstmals vorneweg. Es war ein kostenloses Vinde Produkt. Dies fließt aber nicht in die Bewertung mit ein.

Erstmal muss man wirklich sagen, es ist sehr groß. Allerdings sehe ich dies nicht als ein problem an, da ich in dieser Box mehr (Micro) SD Karten unter kriegen kann als in den 2 Hartschalenboxen die ich vorher verwendet habe. Dies ehattne jeweils Platz für 4 SD und 6 MicroSD. Jetzt habe ich Platz für 8 SD und 32 MicroSD. Dazu auch noch viele Adapte rum das mitgelieferte USB C Kabel auch mit allen möglichen zu verbinden.

Generell verstehe ich zwar nicht den Sinn der Nadel, da ich solche eigentlich eher bei SIM Karten verwenden muss, da es aber keinen Platz wegnimmt ist es auch nicht unbedingt ein Problem.

Der Kartenleser selbst funktioniert, hat halt eher Mittelmässige Geschwindigkeiten. Dies ist aber auch nicht so schlimm, da ich nur 3 Kartenleser kenne die wirklich High Speed sind, dafür aber auch für soezielle Karten eines Herstellers gedacht sind.

Kurzum. Ich gebe dem ganzen die volle Sternzahl. Die Größe ist zwar nicht unbedingt was für die Hosentasche aber mit der Menge an Karten die man reinpacken kann ist dies eher vernachlässigbar. Und in einer normalen Techpouch passt es locker rein.
