If you're coming straight from the issued bergen, this item is a 'Must Have'!
One of the benefits of this Bergen is that you have a designated poncho pouch on the front that doesn't intrude the opening ability of the bag, like the issued one. I have found this massively beneficial in the field. Don't get me wrong, you can very much just go on with the issued bergen, but this is a nice-to-have feature.
Another one of this bags benefits, is that you also have an extra 2 pouch on the front that enable you to have easy-to-access kit like a jetboil, ready to go.
The commander flap at the top is easy to access, and I've found that I can fit a flat sleeping matt under the flap very easily.
The side pouches are also a pro, and are better than the issued one.
Overall this bergen is great, and I'd highly reccommend upgrading if you have the means to do so, and are in the market for upgrading your kit.
