So I bought this to paint the upper levels of my house, spec the bit over the front door porch, without coming into contact with the porch guttering. Worked a treat, gave a gap of a couple of inches, and placed me in a nice position to paint the wall above. Because of the shape of the standoff I was able to position my ladder around a downpipe, paint around the standoff frame, and only make one ladder adjustment to paint the patch of the wall which came into contact with the standoff. A great bit of kit which as a diy'er will enable to carry out more regular maintenance on parts such as guttering, that have previously been neglected.

I'm on the fence with this ladder stand off/stay. In principle it's a great product, but in practice is doesn't seem very safe? Maybe the one I received is faulty? Putting it together was quick and easy, materials seem reasonable, and attaching it to the ladder was easy enough too.

However, the real issue I have is when leant against the wall, the rubber feet do not fully contact the wall surface, seems like the metalwork is bent/buckled? (see photos). This means that the ladder has less contact with the wall, even when I am up the ladder and putting weight against it, therefore it is now less stable than without the stand off, and I don't fancy my chances. I could try to bend the metal legs straight, but that may make it worse, and invalidate the warranty?

Overall, not a bad idea, but definitely not safe in it's current state, hence only 3 stars.

Bought this to go on the new Worhan telescopic ladder i purchased to do the outside of my house. Good product, good price, one complaint.......
Whilst it works fine and is secure on the ladder, when climbing 5-6m and clinging on for dear life with paint in one hand and the other hand clinging to the ladder as you blubber & cry your way to the top, if you look closely you can see on the second rung this product 'hooks' over the rung with the hook edges on the outside. Every time, and i mean EVERY time i climbed the ladder these hook edges would scratch along my chest and stomach, now i might be slightly larger than the average bear Boo Boo, but after a week of climbing the ladders i looked like a Freddie Kreuger victim. Genuinely i had cuts and welts all over me from the edges of these hooks as they were squared off and not rounded.
in the end i had to use half a roll of duct tape to stop them taking their revenge. Once this issue is sorted out I am sure it will be a great product.
