Product description

You asked for a larger version of our Induction Hob Protector and we’re happy to oblige. There’s nothing worse than getting scratches and scuff marks on the shiny glass surface of your hob, but this black mesh liner has been specially designed to protect the surface of the largest induction hob without affecting its heat conductivity. Result.

Prevents scratches, scuffs and marks

If you’re shaking stir-fried food around in a wok or stirring a sauce a little enthusiastically, it’s easy to inadvertently damage the glass surface of your induction hob. But placing this liner over the top ensures the delicate surface is protected at all times, eliminating the risk of scuffs and scratches. And, of course, it means you can cook with pans that might not have a perfectly smooth-ground base, which means you can use your favourite cast iron casseroles and cooking pots on your induction hob after all.

Conductivity is maintained

We’ve thoroughly tested this protective sheet to ensure it causes no reduction in the efficiency of the magnetic contact, so you won’t notice any difference in the time it takes to cook your favourite dishes. The heat-resistant woven mesh is coated with silicone so pans will stay securely in place above the induction element they’re on, while the liner itself will stay firmly in place on your hob too. And when you’re not cooking, the mat can be left in place to protect your hob from any unforeseen scratches that might happen when the shopping’s being unpacked or lunch boxes are tossed out of school bags.

Heat-resistant up to 250°C.

Free from BPA, PFOA and PTFE.

Please note: this liner can only be used on induction hobs. It is not suitable for ceramic hobs.

    Yes, an induction cooker will work with this protector on the hob. It does a great job at stopping scratching and looks good.

    The protector has not stained, torn or burnt in regular use.

    I advise that you cut the protector to reveal the hob controls. The lights on the hob display can be seen through the protector. However hob locations are not visible and have to be estimated. This is not really a big problem.

    The only downside for me is that I am a messy cook and some food always spills out of my pan. The protector mesh retains the big bits. Everything else goes through the mesh and under the protector. Therefore a bit of a pain to clean up. As it’s a big mat I usually end up washing it down under the shower. Cleans up great. I just wish it was a solid mat so I could wipe it off in one go. Clear silicone would be even better but nothing like that looks to be available at the moment.

    Get it and enjoy. But, be a very tidy cook.
