Blue vinyl ?!
I was lead to believe this vinyl was going to come in the blue, as this is what is seen in all photos/reviews. However, the version I received was black, which is very disappointing as I am a huge la la land fan. However I already love this soundtrack, it is beautiful

    The movie was overhyped when it was released, which made me avoid it. However, having had the chance to discover it on my own terms, I would very highly recommend both the movie and the soundtrack to anyone. Even if you believe you don't like jazz, give it a try, you might surprise yourself.

    I really loved La La Land as a movie - in the style of old Hollywood with fantastic music and cinematography - and I wanted the soundtrack because it was stuck in my head! I ordered the CD and got a free mp3 auto rip - which meant I could listen to it straight away! So I was very pleased to see the pdf with the mp3 songs had the lyric sheet with it.

    However, I was disappointed that when the CD came they hadn't included the lyrics in the booklet with the CD.

    Slight flaw there I think, but I can use the pdf and print it and include it myself in the cd - but that feels a bit 'against' the point of the CD version...

    Anyway that aside, music is beautifully written and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. Hats off to Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and co for such beautifully addictive music,

    This is the best film I have seen in years. It isalso the first film on dvd where I have watched the film with the director and composer commentary actioned. It help my understanding of what went into making the film, and confirmed what I thought the alternative ending was about.
    The film itself I have seen in a cinema three times, and on dvd once, and blu-ray twice. I have also bought the film's soundtrack cd, and played it straight through, and thought it worked very well. It's very good company on a longish car journey. In my opinion Emma Stone thoroughly deserved her Oscar, and the film should have been awarded the best film Oscar.

    The intention behind La La Land, the film, was to show how the glamour, the romance, and the sheer joie de vivre of the classic fifties musicals could be recreated in the twenty-first century. It succeeds on all counts, not least because the soundtrack is made up of some absolutely brilliant music. It is jazz based, with melodies that stick in the memory after just one hearing. I write as someone who is not actually a big fan of classic fifties musicals, yet I love this musical. I am not all surprised that this soundtrack CD is a big seller.

    I was a bit concerned about buying this in vinyl format having read a former review, however we decided to purchase it as my daughters and I absolutely loved the music from the film.
    We were not disappointed. The vinyl looks great in blue and the music, well, speaks for itself. Highly addictive and a soundtrack that will never be far from my record player even in years to come I suspect.

    Several others have complained about the poor pressing and I am another. At least mine didn’t jump or skip but there is dreadful surface noise throughout the whole of the second side coupled with loud crackling on many of the tracks on both sides. Quality control at the pressing plant is obviously non existent. Records should just not be allowed to leave a plant with these very obvious defects. I like the music, have watched the dvd several times I just wish I could enjoy this soundtrack but that’s not possible with this terrible vinyl issue. I will be sending mine back for replacement but in view of other poor reviews I’m not expecting any improvement.

    I am both extremely and pleasantly surprised. The replacement is so much better.Just a few pops and crackles none of which are that distracting or annoying.There is no surface noise at all on side 2. I had to enlarge the centre hole as it was too small to fit on my turntable spindle but this is easily done by pushing and turning the end of a ballpoint pen into it.Hence I have upgraded my score from one to four stars.

    Bon, vous avez sans douté adoré la bande originale de La La Land et c'est tant mieux ! Je ne reviendrai donc pas sur la qualité mélodique des morceaux et leur plaisir à les écouter... et les fredonner.

    Par contre, il est à noter que le mixage de ce CD est particulièrement bon en offrant une vraie clarté sonore, un vrai large spectre sonore, et donc un excellent relief sonore avec des aigus bien placés qui donnent une vraie dynamique : on a envie de bouger ! Ça claque, on se croirait DANS le film !

    Rassurez-vous, il n'y a pas plein de basses partout, bien au contraire, le CD offre ici un mixage optimal pour une écoute de plaisir où on chante et on fredonne les airs en même temps que la chanson. On peut presque faire du karaoké avec ce CD !

    Je vous recommande vraiment ce CD si vous avez aimé les musiques de La La Land, vous ne serez pas déçues !
